Well, it finally came! Gonna be a while before I get a winch and light bar for it but I’ll at least get in painted up and on the truck. BC109B08-CA67-4429-A314-F68E8A93B2FF.jpgB41668BC-2130-4D3A-AFF1-10C1F9811B71.jpg 0CF68E49-1CC6-4D7D-970C-B481CC2170F1.jpg

It is really a nice piece of work! I’m impressed with the quality of it and it’s not too awful heavy. I’ll get som more pics up soon as it’s on.

Ordered it 15 Mar and it arrived yesterday 28 May. They shipped it freight to MWM in Denver and I picked it up there. I can’t remember what they say the weight is on the website but I’d bet it’s about 100 lbs. I can movie it around myself it’s just a bit awkward.

Spent a few hours cleaning up a little spatter and wire wheeling/sanding the whole bumper. Sprayed on the primer. Looks good so far. Back to sanding and tacking tomorrow. I’ll probably do a few more coats of primer before I paint it. Thinking of doing a hammered finish satin black. Have a couple test pieces drying now so I’ll make a decision tomorrow. Has to be easy to touch up though. 565CA66F-81B2-49E6-A50D-77BFA9C953BD.jpg

Got the new bumper installed yesterday night. The black rustoleum hammered finish is a great match with the grey wheels.

Tonight I drilled and tapped 18C5208D-7391-4C6B-802F-92A479ECFA6F.jpg F132A87F-57B9-4C34-90B2-DE4ADA983D2C.jpg C5007DA1-9904-4301-95E6-275F222D31E5.jpg 8C56D28A-7F6D-4C18-8C7C-A370C2811F61.jpg some new holes for the brackets that hold the emergency brake cable. Those metal bits have been rattling around down there for too long. Also used some zip ties to try and resolve some squeaks in the leaf pack. Hope it helps

Need to clean up this cut a bit and then finish up leveling the bumper when I install the winch on Wednesday. Going with a cheap-o smitty bilt x20 for now. Also put the sway bar back on before the long ride up to Montana to pick up our new camper. Should have pics Saturday morning once I get back to the house...B6093AE0-9642-4905-95C0-90B34889B671.jpg

Damn it looks so good- any reason why you chose to paint yourself vs powder coat?

I’ve been flip flopping on bumpers for months now. I keep coming back to the c4 with full bull bar one cuz it looks the best but they only offer it in steel vs aluminum. Tho seeing this just convinces me that I need this one and to just go up to 650 springs .

if I went this route and painted myself it’d save a good amount of money and may convince me to Pull the trigger sooner

    got anymore pics?

Dude I say go for it, I’m running 650s now and it feels pretty good. I will be interested to see how much difference the winch makes when I get it installed. Overall though the bumper really isn’t too heavy. My wife and I put it on there with ease and she’s a tiny little thing. Plus it’s sexy af. I’ll grab some photos in the daylight tomorrow, it was in the garage all day today.

If i end up going this route (leaning highly towards it) i'll shoot you a DM, be curious about your step by step process to prep/get the bumper painted / what you used.

FWIW, I'm still running the King 600 springs with a full bumper (SSO Armagedon Armor with high clearance kit welded together as a one piece) with a Warn VR10 with synthetic rope, and a Heretic light bar and my frontend sagged not quite 1/2". I was also running 1/4" spacers on the front and I just swapped them out to 1/2" and that brought me back to level. I'll eventually swap out to some 650 or 700 springs once I add skids, but until then, the 600s are just fine.

The truck is looking great @ThatGuyJake. Montana for your new camper you say, picking up a GFC? I'm jealous if so :D

I’m picking up and installing the winch tomorrow but mine is sagging with skids and the bumper. Only running the 1/4 inch space though. The 700 lbs Springs are like 80 bucks so I think I’m gonna order them and give ‘em a try. Also gonna grab the two extra leafs for the Dakar’s. They’re starting to sag a bit, especially under load.

We bought a ITW overland trailer. I’d love a GFC but the wife wanted a shower and what not. We looked at FWC fleet campers too but, they’re just too much for daily driving. Here’s a pic of the camper. Should work for us I think and it fits in the garage! HahaB7A6C12B-521E-403C-A9F4-7CEE29FF1A73.jpg

Looks like a nice trailer, place for the dirt bike and all :D...and if it gets the wife out with you then even if it's not what you ultimately want it's probably worth it :). I can also see many upsides to a trailer over a slide-in of some sort. My brother recently bought an Opus OP 4 https://www.opuscamper.us/off-road/ and it's made me want to get another trailer.

Those Opus campers are sweet too. I’m excited to pick ours up but I’m waiting on a red arc brake controller to get here. Looks like it’s gonna be delivered on Thursday when I should be driving. May be a long night getting up there haha
