RCI metalworks orders

I

I ended up getting the bolt off. I took the grinder to the bolt where the head was stripped and grinded 2 straight edges into the bolt. Then I grabbed the bolt head with vice grips and a pipe that fit over the vice grips for leverage. Got it right off and replaced with the bolt provided by RCI. I will post pictures later of the install and finish.

 

Been waiting since beginning of April for sliders. No response from email :/
For sure need to update their lead times or at least communicate a delay I would think.

 

Ordered sliders late march, mine shipped this week!

 

RCI Sliders arrived today, I was a little worried about the beat up shipping boxes but they are pristine! Look great, powder coat is perfect, hopefully I can get them installed soon.

 

this doesn’t make me feel good about getting my rack any time soon

 

hopefully it comes faster then the sliders lol I just hate I cant get them to respond to any emails or anything regarding my order. I dont mind waiting a little longer but would just like info

 

The old saying is you could choose 2: price, quality, and time. I think it's really choose 2 and if you are lucky get 3: price, quality, time, and customer service. I think with RCI, many order from there and expect a better price and timeline than CBI, Mobtown, etc, but if a business gets inundated with orders due to a 15% off sale for 3 months, then we can't be surprised when they drop from the pick 3 to the pick 2 of price, quality, time, and customer service. Until consumers stop pursuing other factors when ordering items, customer service will be the first or second to drop.

Maybe not soon, but considering everything else going on I was happy to get them and in perfect condition.

 

I ordered some rock sliders from them on April 24th and they still havent been shipped, on their page it says "current lead time 4-5 weeks" but its been 6 weeks + 3 days and my sliders havent shipped yet. I havent emailed them yet but I dont mind waiting extra time as long as the sliders arrive without any damage or defects, for me its more important the condition that they arrive in instead of the time that it takes.

You should be soon, I ordered on April 16th and got shipping today.

 

my skid arrived either last Thursday or Friday. So 5 weeks from order placed to delivery. Worth the wait though, thing is stout and looks great! (1/4” aluminum)

 

Going on 6 weeks for my “3-4 week” order. Frustrating because I also tried to add some accessories to the order but they don’t respond to emails

 

My accessories shipped free with a separate order. Check that those add-ons don't ship free otherwise.

 

They charged me for shipping when I checked out. Had a feeling I wouldn’t hear anything so I just ordered any way since I’m committed to that rack now

 

I initially emailed because I asked if I could add the accessories and get the discount that was running with my initial order. I don’t think it’s an unreasonable question. I’ve spent over 10k on the truck since I ordered and it’s the only company that hasn’t shipped. Go figure.

 

I tried the same with CBI and they said they ship separately so no. Par for the course I guess.

 

I ordered skid plates on May 11. They were su-posed to have a 3 week ship time, which is what the website still says. On June 1 I was told to expect a tracking number within the next five days. Haven’t heard anything else or been able to get a reply since.

 

I ordered a full set of 3rd gen aluminum skids May 1st or 2nd IIRC, they arrived here in Canada June 11th. Things have definitely been moving slower but patience is a virtue, and I'm sure COVID isn't helping.

 

Truck Brigade has them at 4 weeks. My sliders took a week longer than stated. I would get antsy at 6 weeks. I'm waiting on skids too, they were ordered on 5/23.
