Thinking about it more I may just leave it on the wall and get a longer hose to feed gas to the welder. My garage is small, I won’t need that long of a hose. And I don’t want to navigate that behemoth in those tight quarters.

If you wanna make a simple project out of it you can just get some angle iron and beef up your current cart.

I priced it out and it’d only be $40 for enough angle iron to build an entirely new cart. Then take some more casters from work. I just don’t know if I wanna lug that thing around my garage.

Did you keep your smaller tank?

I just refill the tanks on my welders with the full one that is strapped to the wall. My tanks on the welders have not been removed in years.

No, I sold it. The cost of annual lease + fill was $250 for the large tank, and sold the small tank for $220. I didn’t see the need to keep the small one.

A friend came to me and wanted to carry his bicycle on his swingout. All 3/16”. It was a lot of fun to go through the design and build process. I love doing this sort of stuff.

So here’s the rear tire cradle. He’ll bolt that on once it’s painted.

And a fork holder will bolt here. I laid one long, sexy weld there but he ground it down. He wanted to help by grinding down and metal finishing it and did that one too, bummer. I was proud of it.

    Pre-Newb alert, looking at borrowing my Dad's 90A 110v Harbour Freight to put together this lo-pro winch mount;

I've got a garage, cement floors, know my way around a grinder.. Pretty patient and don't mind learning a new skill, or taking my time.
Also have friends who have done these bumpers before, and a friend down the street who fabs/builds offroad Sami's.

What do you welders think?, do my specs even line up to put together 3/16" with that machine?

Think it over, I'll be right back after reading from the start of this thread..

If that is the HF Chicago electric welder?i is going to be painfully difficult to do 3/16.

1/8" is on the heavy side. Consider 14 gauge.

That welder is rough to start out on.

I'm a skilled wire welder. It takes me a while to learn the quirks of that welder. It's gonna be hard for a novice.

If you can afford a 3rd gen, maybe consider one of the gas Vulcan or Titanium welders from HF.

It will be useful for a lifetime and it won't take you long to master it.

Earlier I thought my plasma cutter took a shit and wouldn’t turn on. Was doing all sorts of trouble shooting. Then I realized I had plugged my welder in, not the plasma cutter. Cords were right next to each other.

anyways, harbor freight cutter still going strong. Very very happy with this thing. Throws hella sparks so I can’t wait to add the plasma table extension.

    Here goes nothing...

Man, i would like to watch over your shoulder. Is the mig weld in the previous post stacked spots or one continuous weld? (I don't get how you make 'em look like that!)

To be clear, this is a continuous pull of the trigger, but a minute pause in the gun travel?

I want to make sure the newer people in the thread are not misunderstanding your post.
