The riots will not help sports getting online anytime soon and it's spreading into Europe. I have the feeling that oil will rise now that "social distancing" is clearly out the window and DKNG will hover or slightly decline over the next few weeks.

Of course, I'm usually wrong one these things... :anonymous:

I am starting to realize the power of the Fed. The market was recovering after COVID, looking forward a few months. I understood that. Then the country becomes a war zone and it literally wasn't even a blip down for the markets. The Fed money is all that really matters.

You say that like sports and riots don't already go hand in hand?

Like I’ve said, anyone that really believes nrgu is going to 40 within 12 months, should be very confident it will hit 20 and certain it will hit 10. Put everything you can afford to put in it. I’m not doing it, but at some point if you believe it you gotta do it. Your regret will be worse not doing it and watching it fly than if you do buy and it goes nowhere.

Well there's a difference here, I am X level confident it will hit 40, etc. How much am I willing to put on X is really the risk rating. Maybe not everything I own, though. And as others have mentioned too, the trading volume - you might not be able to get out when you want to :p

I had the opportunity to buy DKNG at $15, but I passed because I’m terrified of proximity to IPOs :pout:

    Understandable.

Stop Loss orders help reduce the risk at the start, then Trailing Stop as the value climbs - just pay attention to whether you set a limit or market order for the stop.

you mean Good till cancelled vs end of day expiry? All stop losses are limit sells in some sense.

All stuff I gotta learn about :p

That said there are gains I am okay missing out on. Airlines, cruise lines (now), and IPOs. Miss the gun for one? Sure. But there are plenty others that did not do as well after. Risk v. Reward thing. Didn't Facebook tank after IPO?

I mean whether the stop loss, when triggered, becomes a Limit order or a Market order. (mostly you'd do GTC for either) EDIT: on Fidelity a Stop Loss is a market order, a Stop Limit is a Limit order.

Say I set a $0.50 stop loss for HTZ. I can set it as a Limit or Market order.

When the price hits the trigger, the stop loss can become a market order to sell, or it can become a limit order to sell at 0.50

Now let's say the market moves fast and suddenly HTZ is at 0.40. If you'd set a Limit order your sell at 0.50 Limit won't get filled unless it jumps back up -- whereas your market order should fill at market price.

    Does that help?
