Clazzio leather seat covers!

my truck is parked under a canopy.sliding in and out of the truck caused this early failure.

 

those turned out really good any install tips for a first timer?

 

This was my first time doing the install myself as well lol but some tips that I learned as a first timer doing this install were

1. Always buy the extended protection plan, it will come in handy and give you peace of mind because the basic warranty covers almost nothing.
2. Use the trim tool to get the cover under the plastic seat belt holder for the back passengers side seat (shown in my pictures) the Clazzio cover wont let you slide it under the plastic piece without the trim tool (trust me I tried many times with my hands only).
3. Dont remove any of the back seats, you might think its easier to remove the seats and install the covers on the seats inside your home in a more comfortable area like on top of a couch but one of my covers stitching came undone because of this and I accidentally scuffed up the little storage compartment under the seat because I put some weight on it without putting the screws back on the seat and it scuffed the plastic on the storage compartment underneath.
4. Wear Thick Socks when installing the covers instead of shoes or going in the truck barefoot so that you wont scratch up the plastic panels inside the truck, I accidentally scratched up the center console with my toenail the first time I tried installing the covers by accident because I wasnt wearing socks.
5. When putting the headrests covers on to be able to tell which part goes on the front and which part goes to the back of the headrest look at the little holes on the headrest cover, the holes should be closer to the little metal poles on the bottom of the headrests.
6. The instructions dont really explain too much about the little bungee cords for the two front seat bottom covers, they just give a little brief description saying to put an S-hook on it and hook it up somewhere, dont forget to install the bungee under the seat because you will have two extra S-hooks in the end if you forget.
7. When putting the covers over the seats and you get to the headrest holes try to finish one side at a time starting from one of the corners facing you, I recommend starting by the corner that doesnt have the button because its easier to slide the cover under it without ripping/tearing. Dont use the trim tool for trying to slide the cover under the regular headrests holes because ive heard from many people that the trim tool causes the headrests holes to rip, try to do it with your fingers and hands instead.
8. The only things that I used the trim tool for were to slide the cover under the plastic bottom parts of the two front seats and to get the Clazzio cover under the seatbelt holder plastic part for the back seat on the passengers side, try to avoid the trim tool because some people accidentally rip the covers with it.
9. If it feels like its still too much of a stretch to get to where the cover needs to get to in order to close it up just keep massaging the cover while pulling it down, if its one of the backrests for the front seats try to massage it from top to bottom on the front and grab it from the bottom on the back side to get it to close on the bottom velcro, you might need to stick your hand on the pocket of the cover thats on the back of the front seat covers to make it easier for the velcro to get to where it needs to go to close, you can also use your hand to help slide the cover from the bottom of the front towards the back part of the seat. If your installing the backrest cover for the back seats the cover isnt meant to slide further down than the plastic line on the bottom of the back of the seat, if you try to slide it down further the stitching will become undone (it happened to me) so instead try to massage the cover from the front and grab it from the bottom of the front side, make sure to adjust the cover on the front so that its form fitting with the seat (that means making sure the front bottom part of the seat also matches up with the cover or it wont let you close the cover on the back side.
10. In cases where cutting is required (such as for me I had to cut part of the drivers seat cover to get the velcro to close because some power drivers seat cables were in the way and it wouldnt let me close the cover with the cables in the way) DONT use a box cutter, I recommend getting a professional leather cutting scissor like this:

That's a good way to handle it... or you could just knock all out at once!

If you do spread it out... you may want to set a rest day in between the two front seats.

 

Yeah if I had a climate controlled environment like a garage I would have attempted to do them all at once but since I live in Florida where its always really hot outside or raining and I dont have a garage I had to spread the work out. I also have roommates that are constantly going in and out of the driveway.

Anyone have any ideas for getting white caulk off the leather? I guess I had some on my shorts when I got in the truck last week.

Your welcome, I think someone also said that they have an option in the checkout to have them manufactured in the USA but they charge like $200 extra for that.

 

Dont hold me to this, but Ive had 3 sets over the years, 2 were custom (quilted). The custom ones were from Japan. Looks like the generics are from China.

They all seemed to be of the same quality, outstanding.
