I heard from him and expect mine to ship out any day now. It'll have been right within the time frame he gave me when purchased.

Has anyone had trouble with the DRL function on the 2020 headlights using this harness? I got around to installing mine yesterday, and found that although all the LEDs are working, the DRL doesn’t work as expected.

Now, when the light stalk on the wheel is in the “auto” position, no part of the headlight illuminates. Switch to the parking light position, and then the DRL and side marker come on. Low beams and high beams work fine, and the DRL and side marker remain illuminated.

It seems to me like the harness I have is combining the DRL light with the proper side marker function, when I’d rather have the the proper DRL function combined with the side marker light.

 

Not sure if this will help or not since I’m rolling a tundra, but make sure your truck is running when you’re testing it, since my harness is tapped into the 10amp IGN fuse, truck needs to be on (running) to function correctly.

 

Thanks for the idea, I hoped it was something like that, but same behavior with the engine running or off.

 

I just figured out the issue, and wanted to post here so that Mike, xrunnerdude67, doesn’t have to field anymore emails than necessary.

He informed me that the parking brake will disable the DRL if it is engaged. Lo and behold, I had set the parking brake when I parked it in the driveway to do the swap.

So if the DRL isn’t working quite right on a 2020 LED retrofit job, check that parking brake. Thanks again to Mike for the expertise.
