    working on it!
Anybody have any luck getting the dealer to fix this or does it just stop rubbing? I would like to get it fixed but dont feel like wasting my time with the dealer just tightening the bed tie down so that it stops for a couple days.

Bump. I just dropped my 2018 off for service and mentioned the rubbing on the liner to the tech. They just called back and said that there was nothing to tighten and they didn't know what else to do. That's when I started looking on here for clues. Still an open issue it looks like.

Any updates on this? Mine seems to be getting worse and now it's present on passenger side as well. I'm worried it'll continue to self clearance until there is a hole in the edge of the bed liner

Edit: I've been researching options to adjust the composite bed forward, it looks like there's plenty of adjustment around the bolts based on this photo I found.

Tacoma Bed Bolt (front passenger side) (small).jpg

I wonder if over time our beds are simply sliding backwards and bottoming out on the edge of these sleeves or if they weren't alinged from the factory. One solution would be to replace the sleeve with one that has a smaller ID, preventing less bed travel. I'm going to pop a few of my bolts out and check them.

I have this same thing happening to my bed, except mine is along the whole length. What the heck. is it rubbing the tailgate composite piece? I don't notice any wear there.

I second this one, my 2014 has it on the driver's side and I too have the RF tailgate reinforcement. I haven't given it much thought but will look tomorrow and see if it looks like it's sitting low on one side.

So I checked mine a little closer today. Mine shows like it's wearing mostly on the driver's side. The tailgate is nowhere close to rubbing and the hinge pivot points have very little movement in them. The brackets are tight and don't look like they've moved. The tailgate hangs level and straight.
I think this has been there since it was new and is something that is done in the manufacturing process. That's just my opinion, but it doesn't look like it could rub if it wanted to.

I take it back, I noticed last night the wear on the tailgate piece. Taking a closer look, the wear is more on the drivers side, but still along the whole length.

I'm thinking that while it looks shitty at that corner area, I don't see it wearing any more than what it is. There's only so much contact going on there. I'll see if applying that Aerospace 303 stuff will make it look better.
