For the bag warmer, throw boiling water into a nalgene bottle and toss that into the foot of your bag.

Yeah i've thought of this, as well as warm rocks (by campfire)... think i found a decent sleeping bag.. although slightly larger than i need for the RTT.. rtt measures 55x90", this measures 57x72" https://www.amazon.com/Sleeping-Waterproof-Lightweight-Backpacking-Compression/dp/B07QLRP2XP/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=XL+4+SEASON+sleeping+bag&qid=1590495128&s=outdoor-recreation&sr=1-3&th=1#customerReviews but should fit fine...

also looking into a fridge.. I hate carrying all that ice.. and it limits my range, I think a 55Qt (40-ish lbs, but requires no ice)would be the perfect size, and save me bed space compared to the 77Qt (29.9lbs, but dont forget the 15-25lbs or so of ICE, and loss of space to ICE...) lifetime cooler I have now.

I do more cold weather stuff so a cooler is fine and I don't have to worry about breaking it. I run a Yeti 65 and will be getting a 160 or 210 here soon. They mostly carry meat.

What are you using for a pad? If you don't have a good insulating material you lose most of your heat through the bottom of your bag, since you're compressing that insulation. I used to use those inflatable pads, and I'd freeze my delicate bits during cold weather. Switched to a foam pad and it made a world of difference.

just the stock 2" foam mattress that comes in the ARB Simpson III rtt.... its a multidensity chip foam, not very confortable/compliant... looking to switch it out at some point for a 3" memory foam..

I put an old arm wool blanket under my sleeping pad, stops the cold air coming up under my cot.

Definitely can't go wrong there. I decided to go with Kings, since the springs are cheap and readily available if/when I add more weight to the front. When doing 300-400 miles per day at 45mph shock fade is real, having more fluid is nice.

I am still looking, kings are definitely cheaper, even after adding in tools for a rebuild (minus nitrogen tank, and soft jaws). SPC UCA's and icon RXT rear leafs... may look into this as well..

Sorry man, we headed out Fri midday so I've missed like a weeks worth of notifications on here. Would have loved to meet up. Heard up guys stayed at Baker and then hit the trains?

As far as mattress goes, I throw down one of those foam sleeping pads meant for backpacking before I lay out the sleeping bag. It helps a bit and is cheap

I did Kings with ICON DJ UCAs. Scored deals on both. The rear is still pending on what I do long term for the bed of my truck. I am not sure if I am going to keep my cap. I love it 20% of the time, hate it 20% of the time, and am indifferent 60% of the time. I really want a RTT and was concerned about the height with the cap, but my BIL's truck rack is as tall as my cap and his RTT doesn't feel too high from the ground.

I heard that color was illegal in Maine, you should hide it at my house. Oh and I will require to leave the keys so I can “move” it as needed.
