Continues to get into it anyway....

I barely value your all's opinions and advice on lifting. I sure as hell don't want to hear your opinions and thoughts on race, politics, and other shit.

    Don't start.

    Be well :)

I just wanna tell everyone here, stick to what you know, don’t let other people tell you bullshit you know ain’t true for you.

Erryone always says, eat carbs pre-workout bro, carbs give you energy bro.

I don’t eat many carbs early in the day, pretty much ever, for years. Yesterday was speed training day and I didn’t want to do it fasted but I figured WTH lets eat preworkout carbs. So I ate me some rice 1.5 hours before.

I had to do almost a 2 mile warm up to wake my ass up I was so tired from the blood sugar crash. Yeah so fuck the whole concept of carbs give you energy bro.

I’m going back to postworkout carbs.

Know your truth guys. Stick with what you know works.

Just was kind of a reminder theres no one way. Its just whats the best way for you.

Depends on the carb, and the person. I like carbs about 1.5 hours or so before my workout. If I do them any sooner I really don't perform that well. Also, if they are sugar, even worse. Typically have to be a rice/potato for me.

Agree on the "everything is a guideline" statement, have to know yourself. Personally I can get a blood sugar crash if I get much of any carbs (good or bad) about an hour before any strenuous activity. I will get light headed and tunnel vision, which really sucks if I am doing any running or biking.

I’m on a mini bulk at the moment because new baby and everybody keeps bringing us food and I feel bad not eating it...

but typically - I eat my carbs immediately before I workout. I like to eat oats and gummy bears lol. Gives me the right amount of energy and then I eat a pop tart right after to replenish. That’s majority of my carbs for the day. Only thing else I’ll eat is whole milk with my a.m. shake and p.m. shake and then some vegetables with dinner

I think I’ve just gotten my blood sugar regulation and insulin secretion under such control I really don’t need to ride the carb roller coaster for energy.

Whether thats just a personal biology thing or a side effect of the fact I’ve been utilizing fat adaption techniques for years. Or both.

Although I’m glad I’m experimenting with it. I have a race in two weeks and I truly haven’t raced since 2013, so its nice to know I can’t be slamming prerace carbs. I need to focus probably more on some liquid carbs just before race time.

I also think carbs really just come down to what you have trained your body to do/need.
Same with caffeine, if you train your body to need it, its gonna need it.
So just find out what works best for you and your life and integrate it that way.

Sames. 1.5 -2 hours prior then I'll drink my pre-workout with just a little carb mix in it throughout my workout.
