Wouldnt the buyer need to get double sided tape to make em stick on? I assume after it has been taken off, it loses some of its sticking capabilities.

Weathertech uses in channel, not 3m tape.

 

Anyone know of a 3rd gen Tacoma front skid plate for sale around Portland or Olympia?

 

Good to know. I have the AVS and its has the 3M as well

 

The front ones are shaped such that they stay in place without really needing any tape, but the rears rely on tape to keep them from sliding down in the channel and falling out.

Had to redo the tape on mine a couple years ago cause it stopped sticking, but the tape started failing again recently... so on that note, if anyone finds my rear-passenger-side WeatherTech deflector that I lost somewhere on NF-3330 south of Cle Elum 2 weeks ago, I guess I'll buy you a beer.

 

I don’t remember there being any tape on the rears but maybe I’m wrong.

 

They may have changed the design, mine are over 6 years old, but they had adhesive like they show in this install video:



Mine definitely didn't have any metal clips to install in the channel like "Joe" from "Extreme Terrain!" is using... mine weren't extreme enough to hold up to a gravel fireroad though.

I have AVS in channels with the adhesive. It's been on several wheeling trips and hasn't moved at all. Key was preparation as they give you a scotch pad to scuff up the inside for it to stick and you aren't supposed to lower your windows overnight.
