Is it possible to get these without the threaded pin, but with a cotter'd pin instead?

    Like this one here.

ya i think i could probably find one of those somewhere in town. i think i've seen them at fastenal before, i'm not sure what the price difference is. if you wanted you could just order the reciever mount and then order your own shackle if you knew what you wanted.

ya the only reason i wouldn't put one of those on is you would need a wrench everytime you wanted to take the shackle on or off to put a tow strap in it, the ones that come from me have a threaded pin so you can take it on and off by hand.

I am new to trucks and towing so pardon my naivete. Does my Tacoma come with the hitch pin needed to hold the shackle in? If not, how can I get one?

Is this shackle better made and going to last longer than large manufacturer's shackles?

    Thanks for answering my questions.

i dont think your receiver comes with a pin but i've never bought a new truck so i dont know. if you need one you can add it to your order and its only 5 bucks from me.
i make all of these my self and i would say that this thing will never break on you, if you ever did break it you would have to be doing somthing way way way out of the norm and your most likely going to have a lot bigger problems than worrying about this thing. so in my opinion i think mine are ridiculously strong and you should never have a problem with it. for the question if its made better i can't say because i dont know how they make theirs, mine are all cut out by a water jet and put together by myself. so i stand behind my product and its strength. let me know if you have any more questions
