Plenty of room for the bike and tent here. Longbed FTW! :D

Home bike shop coming along nicely. Finished up the corner piece of the workbench and added some pegboard. It finally feels like I can get some real work done on my bikes in there. Installing a TV this weekend, so I may never leave the garage again after that...

I'm going to check in on all that tomorrow. I should have everything, and I'll try and put together a package (full brakes w/levers, ice tech rotors 200mm, extra metallic pads, bleed kit). Probably a little more than $200 for all that though.

The corona is definitely getting in the way of a lot of good times!!! But as soon as things open up again you should definitely come up! If I'm free we could go ride a few local north shore trails if you want! Open invite

I have a full shimano saint rear (lever assembly, hose, and rear caliper) that I may be selling. The rear caliper had a leak by the piston but could be fixed if you're handy enough. Seems there's some interest in a saint brake assembly, ping me if interersted.

I think my next brakeset will be those Deore 4 pistons. $300 is an excellent value

Sup guys been a while since I posted in here but I’m looking for some advice. I had my I guess you could say first “Bad Crash” about a week ago. Came across a wet pressure treated bridge going way to fast and the front end washed out. Took a good slam, knee into the top cap, tore a jersey, busted lip, etc. Unfortunately due to my clips my right leg got balled up in the bike. I had to get my riding buddy to untangle me from the bike. Well I thought the old “Get bucked off the horse, you get back on it” would work and against my better judgement I rode 3 days later. It was a loop I have run a few times so not new trail, but I could just tell I was riding trigger shy. I was on my brakes way more than usual and I had problems getting comfortable on the bike. So with all that being said, What are yalls tips for regaining confidence after a bad crash? Especially with riding clips, I’m nervous about riding with them. I love them but the crash has made me second guess them. Any tips are appreciated.

    Glad to hear you’re ok.

My $0.02 is 2 fold. First, take some time off the bike. Let the desire to ride come back. Then ride a super easy/familiar trail. Follow that up with a trail or section that’s either unfamiliar or is slightly above your comfort level. Your body and mind will be a bit more ‘in its element’ because you should be more alert and focused on those trails/sections. Granted we should always be hyper-alert and never too comfortable.

I appreciate that. I definitely was to comfortable riding that day. Trail I had done a hundred times and was going way to fast for the conditions.

Some crashes take longer than others to mentally recover from. Take it easy at first. Go for an easy cruise. Maybe loosen up the tension on your pedals (if SPD's).

I’m running crank brother’s mallet E’s with easy release cleats. I’ll look into the SPD’s

ok guys I apologize, I know we discussed knee pads some before, but I never ordered. Now I'm needing to get some before our NC trip.

I like the style/look of the POC VPD Air, but they are discontinued/out of stock and can't make it from anywhere I've found this month...so, recommendations on what you'd grab? cheap pair and wait for POCs new ones to be back in stock?

    Amazon prime preferred lol https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=mounta...d=1591189656&rnid=2470954011&ref=sr_nr_p_85_1

Your combo is what I run and are prob the easiest to get out of. Im a year into cleats and I still have my moments.

Honestly, itll just take some time for your mind to come around. I had a real bad crash in CO a few years ago and I was gunshy the rest of the season tbh. But next season I came back strong as ever. Brain just has to reset.

Sometimes you just hit a little rock the wrong way and decide to take a trail nap.

I just bought a pair of G form X2’s. Haven’t rode in them yet, but I wore them around the house and they felt good. They may not be quite the protection you are looking for. I bought them more for top cap and down tube protection for me.

Ive been real happy with my leatt 3dos. If I can make it down the whole enchilada without noticing them, Id say they do fine for heat and tech riding. Their 3/4 length enduro pads are pretty great too.

Trail naps are the best. Worst part is doing it in a full parking lot at the trail head. Been there before.
