Oh man that sucks... my old man broke two studs on his tundra trying to loosen lug nuts that were over tightened when he got a tire replaced.

Damn.. I have an appointment on the 10th but I'm leaning towards backing out after seeing all these issues.. Like @KrnTaco08 had mentioned above, I'm gonna try to purchase the gear then install it else where.. I know RPM does gearing but wonder how much Steve will charge..

Dang. With the speed that they’re turning these trucks out a lot of stuff is getting overlooked. I’m sure their normal work load is a slower pace and this shit doesn’t happen.

It only takes a few minutes maybe 5 minutes at the most with 2 guys working on your truck to hand tighten and torque the lug nuts properly.

Maybe they shouldn’t do so many trucks in 1 day.

I asked about a refund and I was told there is a 15% restocking fee.

In the end it’s gonna be more work for them if people keep going back for re work. Just do it right the first time.

That’s always the case. If it was only $ instead of $$$ there wouldn’t be complaints We’re spending a good chunk of change with them.

I live an hour+ from their shop. Going back and forth is not an option. Finding out there is an issue in the middle of the Mojave is also not an option.

I thought the whole install was supposed to take around 4hrs? Not 1.5. Like one of the members said earlier “ they turned into jiffy lube of gears”.

I appreciate you setting this up OP. I’m sure it wasn’t easy but I think I’m out. I’ll either pay the restocking fee or just purchase the gears and take it somewhere else.

15% of the $1700? Or the $400 that we all put down?

Of parts that can be used for group 2, assuming this just doesn't completely collapse.

I’ve already paid $1,400 and also they’re going to charge me $200 for the lockers...which doesn’t even cover the routing of the air lines so really I owe $500 more...

Question for those who've completed their service. What kind of inspection do they let you do prior to driving off? I feel like now that we know the ongoing issues mentioned, we should ask to do a thorough check before heading home.

They didn’t have any issue with me checking out the truck on of off the lift. If you asked to check it out I’m sure Carlos would tell you to go ahead.

I have my install tomorrow, I'm going to ask them to try and take their time with the install. @SoCalTacoTruck if you could relay some of this info that would be much appreciated.

Some good news- Managed to do the rest of the lugs without snapping a stud!!!

Loving the gears so hopefully this was just a minor bump in the process.
