    Hello fellow Tacoma owners,

I needed a pickup truck, so I followed the advice of some coworkers and picked up this 2012 ATV6 Tacoma Double Cab long bed. It’s been babied and only has 79k miles on it. But it had a lot of extras too, and beyond the Weather Tech floor mats and aftermarket speakers I know nothing about them.

For starters, it has 265 60 R18 Nitto Grappler tires on it with gold 18 inch rims, of which I have no idea what company makes them. Also, I noticed on the rear that the shocks are a bright blue color, maybe after market? There is also an aftermarket cold air I take system as well. It seems to sit higher than the other stock Tacomas I’ve seen, and I don’t know if it’s lifted or not. I’m 6ft tall and I have to jump up to enter. Because I’m stupid I don’t know how to find out myself.

I uploaded a couple of photos, and I’ll gladly take any advice anyone has about this truck. If you can ID the rims as well let me know.

Thanks, and I appreciate any advice anyone has.

Welcome to the forum! Nice truck

The wheels are Level 8 MK6. Could you take a picture of the front suspension for us? Most likely its a level kit or a spacer kit, on top of the stock suspension.

    Welcome!

If the shocks are yellow and blue, they are the stock shocks, meaning it might be a spacer lift. Looks like someone took the TRD stickers off too.

Yeah those are the stock shocks. How does it ride currently? Nothing wrong with a spacer lift, it'll just ride rough when the shocks get worn.

The hood scoop, and the bumper and door handles are the same color as the main color of the truck. Non TRD trucks have a chrome bumper and black door handles.

Thanks. It definitely rides a lot tougher than I’m used to, but I wasn’t sure if it’s just because I wasn’t used to it. Is there any way I can check just by crawling under

@angrycarbs you have a TRD Sport.

The TRD Off Road do not have the above options from the factory.

Thanks! Is there any way that I can confirm that? Even running the VIN doesn’t give me the info

To confirm it's a real trd there should be a place to plug in an outlet in the bed. The cover for the outlet is black and yellow.

I'm pretty sure it's a trd sport, most trd off road owners wouldn't spend the time and money to change out the door handles, bumper, and hood.

Thank you so much! Confirmed the outlet in the bed. I wonder why the previous owner did all the badge deletions? Nevertheless it looks sharp as hell; I appreciate the info. Thanks again

Just plugged everything into the My Toyota site. It says that the TRD Sport value package was added. Thanks!

    No problem.
Previous owner also took the Tacoma badges off the doors too. Some people think it looks cleaner with no stickers or badges. I personally have always like the trd stickers.
