    Somehow I didn’t expect to end up with this much wood. Holy smokes that’s a lot of boards. (small ones are cut 1" thick, larger boards are 2")

    Just like Oak has select, rustic or quarter sawn I'm thinking it's a type of Alder that I just haven't seen yet..

    Check out what we found! Milled a couple of pear trees yesterday, and one had a bullet that we happened to slice right in half. Dark wood where it healed around it years ago.

    This has to be made into something ... but what??

    I'm thinking a gun rack like this could be amazing, with the bullet centered on the top piece.

    I made a simple tissue box holder.
    The one major thing I learned is that tissue companies don't standardize on box sizes to I ended up requiring a certain brand always be bought

    all scrap wood

    the main body is red oak
    the top is white oak
    the mountains are maple and walnut
    the sun and rays are cottonwood
    and the top trim is a mystery wood :)
