It sounds like you've made your choice with your muzzle devices then, I haven't heard bad things about the Griffin and I think you'll be happy with it. You should get around the same performance as my almost 8" Optimus from the Explorr and you'll be right at hearing safe (Muzzle) but I don't recall meter data from the ear.

I chose the YHM resonator for price and performance reviews. Still waiting a year in though. Resonator + Adjustable gas in semi auto stuff really seemed like what I wanted.

Any clue on current wait times for a Form 1 can?

Most likely going to build one for my Ruger PC Charger 9mm. And planning on a 6 incher.

I thought it was under 30 days for a form 1 can.

Form 1’s are very short these days, definitely sub 2 months.

Recent form 4’s have also sped up, some in October and sooner have been approved but there are also still people at/over 1 year as well.

I have not, the only experience I have with the scorpion is the 16” carbine.
From my experience with subgun “pistols” and AR “pistols” it’s always worth the SBR as long as you don’t live on a state line or want to travel with it super often.

I just got finished filling a eForm 1 to make a 10/22 SBR. Got my fingerprint cards done earlier today.

Hope my wait won't be too long. I did a form 4 back in 2011 that took 4 months, and a few forms 1's in 2012 that took 5.

Gonna make a rifle almost exactly like this.

If I was gonna do another suppressor, I'd buy one of these and eform 1 it.

The eform 1's are running super fast.

I'd rather not mess with one of those to convert to a suppressor.

I wouldn't dream of it with the $30 kits. I'm seriously thinking about this one for a 5.56 thou.

If I get my form 1 SBR stamp back in a decent time, I'll probably go for it. $550 including the stamp for a stainless AR can seems pretty good.

    Included in the Kit:
    (1) 304 stainless steel tube with a Black Cerakote Finish ( in recent testing Nitriding was causing our tubes to be brittle)
    (7) 303 Stainless Steel internals
    (1) 303 Stainless Steel spacer with Black Nitride finish
    (1) 4140 Steel exit cap with Black Cerakote Finish
    (1) 4140 Steel 1/2×28 TPI entrance Cap with Black Cerakote Finish
    (1) 4140 Steel 5/8×24 TPI entrance Cap with Black Cerakote Finish

This solvent trap is designed to attach to 5.56 rifles style rifles with 1/2×28″ thread pitches all the way up to 300Win/308 style rifles with 5/8×24″ thread pitches.

I've done 4 Form 1s in the last 60 days. First 3 came back in 4 weeks. Last one is on week 2 of the wait.

Just found out everyone at work is getting a $1500 bonus!:bananadance:
We barely slowed down during the initial Covid bs and had a record month last month. I suspect it's for tax reasons but I'll take it!
Think I'm going to build a Form 1 9mm can using SD Tactical parts. And maybe Badger Ridge plugs. I used these to build my Form 1 30 cal. and it turned out pretty good. Everything from SD Tactical, in titanium, will be $200. This includes a carbon steel shorty muzzle brake.

I'm close to ordering the Muted Machine Works D Cell kit. One of the options for a barrel adapter is a 3 lug adapter. Said to fit a SDTA 3 lug mount. Does anyone know if this kit comes with the actual 3 lug mount? So all I'd have to do is get the SDTA 3 lug muzzle brake? I've contacted them but I've heard they are slow to respond. Just wondering if any one here has dealt with them that could answer this question.

EDIT: It doesn't come with the mount, just an adapter for their mount. I went ahead and ordered the direct thread kit.

Form 1 electronically submitted today. It took longer as I didn't realize the fingerprints and photo requirements even for a trust. The photo I just took with my phone using a passport photo app.

    And now we wait.............
