I just finished removing my fuel injectors to send them off for cleaning. One of them has broken and will definitely need to be replaced. I attached some pictures of one that is fully functional. Are these the OEM fuel injectors for the 3.4L V6 in a 1st gen? If so, does anyone have their part number? Thank you in advance.

The parts manual shows two p/n's: 23209-62030 and 23209-62040. I think the xxx030 may be for your '98, but not 100% sure. You know Toyota has an online parts looker-upper.

    I would call:

    MotorWest Performance
    7851 Alabama Ave, Ste 16
    Canoga Park, CA 91304
    1-747-888-9768

MotorWest will clean, replace worn parts and seals, and test six injectors and ship them to you for about $185 (MotorWest told me they did not need my old injectors). That's a good price and I received the injectors about four days after I called them. It's not often I refer somebody for parts or services for my truck, but I trust these people.

I will second MotorWest. talk to them about your injectors, there is a electric fault that develops with the Aisin OEM injectors at high miles. They offer a Denso set instead.
    From their website-

After years of research and development, we are discontinuing this product and introducing and more reliable and cost effective Denso injector replacement.

The original 23250-62040 (brown) injectors have an internal solenoid defect that fails over time, with high mileage engines being the most affected by this.

The symptoms begin as an intermittent random misfire. The issue then becomes ongoing when the vehicle reaches normal operating temperature. Finally the internal injector solenoid dies and the misfire becomes permanent.

The great news is we now offer a solution to solve the issue permanently. We are so confident in the replacement injector’s reliability that we are offering Lifetime Warranty on every unit sold!

The Denso replacements can be found by clicking here, or searching our store for part number HP831.

Thank you all for your help. I have decided that it would be a much better idea to replace all 6 injectors rather than send 5 away for cleaning and buying 1 new one.

:gossip: If one injector is going intermittent, or if you have a solid CEL that indicates an injector is defective, or if one injector needs cleaning, then the rest of the injectors are not far behind. You are wise to replace all of them at once (preferrably with refurbished ones) and be done with it.

I've placed an order for six reman'd injectors for my '95. I replaced the #1 injector with new OEM last year due to misfire. Along with replacing the vac lines, I was trouble free for a few months. Now she's got a terrible hot stumble again. It's the #5 this time. Grrr. Gonna replace them all this time.

Still looking for a full OEM airbox/resonator/intake tube to replace the garbage K&N setup the PO installed. If you've got a clean one with all the parts, please let me know. I don't need the MAF.

It sucks to say but those should be replaced all at the same time. They come flow matched so each cylinder gets the same fuel. And once one goes they are all usually on the edge. I think you just found that out. I did however just change one bad coil as opposed to all three but they are easy compared to injectors.

Part of my reasoning my that my '95 only has 125-130k miles. It felt more like an anomaly rather than an impending mass failure.

I had already done the plugs and coils.

One of my injectors crapped out with less than 100,000 miles on it. Needless to say, I replaced all six of them at once.

    Knock on wood!

Yeah that happens, and it’s hard to drop all that coin sometimes too. I totally get it. Lol you do a few of those “I’ll just replace one.” ’s, and experience sets in for the next time. Especially after trying to access all the injectors and being careful with a near 20 year old wiring harness...

A couple months ago somebody posted what he did to replace the old, dried-out, broken, plastic harness cover. He used some special heat-resistant tape and he did a damn good job of it too. If I were doing my injectors I would certainly do the harness just like he did. Sorry I don't have the time right now to search for it and post a link, but I'm sure it was in the April-May time frame...

I’m hopefully doing this on my 2nd Tacoma today, I will post pics if I do. I may have been the person that posted the first time, but I don’t think I had pics of that one so maybe not! I have done it with the Tesa tape and rubber covered cable clamps and it turns out nice!

I Think I saw that. If it’s the same thing, then yeah, it was bad ass.

I’m waiting on my next big thing. I just replaced my brake booster and not too long ago, my master cylinder.

If you do that chances are when you support the wiring harness you'll find the connectors don't make contact and will give out a misfire for no reason

Gravity pulling the harness thus pins inside the connector down bent the spring out of them and required me to replace the connectors for some to fire again

I just woke up this did a horrible job explaining but don't be like me and take the intake manifold off 5 times trying to figure out what's up

The tw member used Tessa tape, which is what I used and nappa wiring loop things which is also what I used and it came out fantastic
