I did notice that replacing and adding 1 extra exhaust fan allowed my gpu fans to run about 400-600rpms less to maintain the same temp as before

    Anyone getting into VR?
I'm picking up a free Oculus CV1 from my brother who went to the new Vive.
I'm just hoping this cable lasts long enough for newer sets to get cheaper. I'd get an index but it's $$$$

    That's a Lian Li 011.

So the top two are 140 mm and the rest are 120 mm. I have the same case with the same number of fans.:anonymous:

It's actually quieter than my last rig. You can run fans at lower RPM when you have more of them to achieve the same airflow. In general the lower the RPM the quieter the fan.

On top of that, when you want to push your clocks on air cooled components, you can ramp the fans up loud and achieve a whole new level of clocks. I have two ML 120mm, which are about the highest airflow 120mm you can get, blowing right at my 2080Ti. When I want to push frame rates I have a whole profile setup for when those fans are at 100%. It's just engine loud but I used headphones so who cares lol. Then when I want normal quiet gaming I just revert to my quiet profile.

It's kind of what I had on my last setup. 2x 140mm CPU fans and 3x 120mm case fans. It ran decently quiet, even at max. I don't think I could go back to anything less than 120mm fans. My 4790k ran @ 4.8GHz with CPU fans controlled by the MB, and I only had to crank up the case fans in the summer.

I have seven fans in the case. Two ML120, three QL120, and the three Fractal high pressure 120mm fans on the 360mm AIO radiator. I don't hear anything unless I choose to ramp the fans up. I have them matched to CPU temperature right now, and they stay pretty low until the CPU hits 60c, then they hit max around 75c. The only time my CPU gets that's hot is when I fold proteins for hours in a row.

I always thought that was a water cooling focused case. Isn't it pretty inefficient having the case fans parallel to the mobo like that? They're just directing their airflow into the glass side panel instead of across components.

But then again the whole positive/negative/neutral pressure debate comes into play. As long as cool air in + warm air out it'll do fine I'd guess.

I have watercooling. That's a 360mm AIO on top. I'll do a custom loop with my next build in this case. That was definitely a factor in my buy.

Honestly the three fancy fans just push fresh cool air into the case for the 360mm AIO fans. The real workers are on the bottom. Two ML120 fans at the bottom push roughly twice as much air as anything Noctua makes, and moves that air right into my 2080Ti.

I've been very happy with the temps out of this setup.

Awesome. I didn’t see the fans at the bottom.
