So, it turns out all intermediate length gas tubes are not all the same length. Just need a longer gas tube, isn't sticking into the BCG, compared it to my other .308's, uhh, duh. Oh well, but it's the gas tube roll pin I have the most trouble with on any build.... New proper sized tube flying in the mail now, will update. Thanks again to all, none of my friends shoot, so it's great to have you guys here, thanks.

soon I'll be selling a PSA 20" upper. I just need to remove the optic and backup sites on it. I think we're both in WA too?

I have been impressed so far with the quality and fit. They had blems in stock on their website so I jumped on grabbing one. Most every where else online is starting to sell out of stripped uppers so I got it while I could.

Man, I got that atlas handguard by them. Put it off for so long. Love it.

Totally agree about online finding parts. Not a good time.

I’m looking at the BCM MCMR 8” rail. Should pair well with the 9” barrel

Anyone been looking at the new
6mm ARC from Hornady? I have a couple of 6.5 Grendel’s so I might switch a barrel on one.

I'm flip-flopping on it quite a bit. On one hand, it's a great mousetrap: Make an AR15 as flat shooting and long range capable as possible, with good terminal effect, in an autoloader. 1000 yard performance from an 18" barreled AR15 is TEMPTING. You get the varmint, class 2, and long range bullets available, premium brass can be formed for those who care, low recoil, plus some .mil acceptance means it's probably here to stay. Feeds from Grendel mags with Grendel bolts, both of which are getting more reliable every day. Being an AR15 it is capable of being a 6lb rifle or a 16lb rifle if you need either. Low recoil somewhere between 7.62x39 and 5.56. It's the perfect fit for that Vortex 1-10 LPVO that just released. How can you argue with a cartridge that makes an AR a capable multipurpose hunting rifle out to 300, while being a good fighting rifle from 1 yard to 1000?

On the other hand, I don't NEED an AR15 to do that. If I could only have 1 rifle it would probably be an AR chambered in 6ARC, in the 6lb range before optics, with a decent brake. Given that I don't need all of the above functions in the same rifle, I can build a few specialized rifles to do them.
