Cool! Just the other day I was cruising on Rt 48 south of Elizabeth. It’s beautiful countryside out there. Next on the list is West Newton.

I was able to have time before the storms moved in to practice a new exercise.

I drew a 30’ circle (faint pink line in picture) and practiced my leaning and counter balancing technique while running the circle at different speeds.

I was shaky at first and couldn’t maintain the line, but after a while I honed my technique and got REALLY good at counter balancing and staying smooth.

By the time I was done (admittedly totally worn out and soaked with sweat), I had scraped the peg feelers on both sides and utilized about 99% of the tread surface on the front tire.
Now I know why people call this thing “the Miata of motorcycles.”

What bike? Looks like a jap inline 4.... 3k mile OCI no probs, 1500 is rather excessive.

I'm equally impressed with your circle drawing abilities and scraping on both sides, especially at lower speeds. You're going to be a better rider than 99% of the people out there with all this practicing.

Hey, thanks! I appreciate the feedback very much.

For the circle, I took along a 15’ long string and tied it to one of the spokes on the front wheel.
Then I pulled it tight and duck-walked in that radius while dragging the sidewalk chalk with my other hand.

    I’m a weird f-ing guy.

it is I know you are right, but the way I justify it is I am riding roughly 2k miles a year so doing it at 1500 miles would be just about one oil change per year, my typical ride is short as well, so for me 2k miles would be roughly turning the bike on 150-200, had I been running longer distances I would more than likely be changing at 2500k. A lot of this depends on the bike and the tune as well, this bike is pretty rich from the factory so I dont mind changing oil sooner than later..

will be considering a tune in the future, but have not started looking into that one yet

The un-worn part is called chicken strips. Because most people dont turn. Glad to see you are using all of your tire investment.

Man, I havent ridden in a while it seems. I keep missing all the good days because my work schedule or because of truck projects. But Im mostly caught up now, so I should be able to get out and ride again
