Pull the o-ring off the bad sensor and reinstall, run it on-road a while. Will be fine.

 

Or drive with no sensor while it's HOT!

Yes but I wouldn't leave it out for long, dust/debris in grease is worse than water /opinion

So the wifi switch on my x20 went out due to corrosion (seems like a common issue). I contacted smittybilt for a replacement, expecting just the switch, but they sent a new solenoid block with an updated switch!!

Hopefully it holds up longer than the last one!

 

Was it the on/off switch that went out? Or the actual solenoid? I was under the impression that it was the solenoid that most commonly failed. Therefore I added a little extra water proofing like this:

It was just the switch, running on the wire worked fine.

I took the solenoid block apart and the switch was the only thing with any corrosion at all.

However IDK how the thing gets its IP68 rating without fully potted electronics

 

Unrelated, I did Spa's creek Sunday morning as a spur of the moment thing with a friend in a stock 3rd gen T4R, the top of that is pretty nasty now, also the bosch style 30/40a relay I have running my fan burnt up, and that was a surprise! its on a 25a circuit with appropriately sized wires, had to swap in the relay from my front spots to drive home... I guess those front spots came in handy for something!

 

I don't remember Spaa's, we've been too many places. All the rocks, trees, and mud holes look the same now lol

 

How did the 4runner do? I was just talking to some guys last night about if a stock runner could make it through. What tires were on it?

 

Some bald stock sized tires.

It only needed help thru the mud-hole at the top and did a decent but not unreasonable amount of spotting, we went reeeeallly slow.

I was a bit surprised. If the swaybars were removed and it had 31's with decent tread it probably would have made it just fine.
