Sas overall price?

anyone who has done one these or someone SERIOSLY look up cost on sas'in their truck with all the dumb little stuff adding up, how much am i looking?
i called one shop they said driveline ,building the axle, the mounting kit, and all the labor your lookin near 8 grand and we'll do it.... is that a good price or avg price for that!?!

Well, all depends on how good you are at sourcing the axle and other parts. You could do it for under $2000 if your careful, or you can spend a small fortune.

 

i could find an older axle and make the drive line re gearin no so bad but i mean over all the kit i keep seenin some for near 300 then others near 1ooo when they dont look much different when from there i'd still need half the high steer shit and i dont trust my welds so a shop would have to do it for me

 

For a shop to do everything that's a good price. Labor ain't cheap.

It might be cheaper for you to take some night welding classes and find some components in the mean time.

There is actually a SAS forum linked somewhere in here; like TW but just about SAS. You could get alot of help there if you're doing it yourself.

 

I would highly recommend AGAINEST a 'beginner' welding a SAS project.

Welding is a fine 'art' and takes years & years of experience and practice.

You can't take a welding class and expect your welding to be SAFE for a project like that. No way in hell!!

Correct! That's why you befriend your welding instuctor and trade him a twelve-pack to lay the final beads.

 

when you say befriend... how close do you have to get to him b4 he will do stuff for free?

 

sas sure looks bad ass when you're done but do you really want to drop almost $10 000 on it?

 

It's never free. Even community collage costs money!

But reach-around is a good start.

Id talk to some of the OG's of Toyota's. Bet you can get it done for close to $1500.
