You probably mentioned it before and I forgot.

    You gotta respect Savage.
Not the prettiest rifle, but almost always very accurate.

Savage has came a long way over the past several years.

I still have my first gun my parents ever got me when I was young, a Stevens (which is a Savage) Model E .410 pump. Dad gave $60 for it from a guy we knew, I wouldn’t take a million for it now.

I've been eyeing the howa in a 30/6.

What is your opinion of them?

Honestly, never shot one. One of my buddies is a huge gun nut and has shot a couple. He liked them. He also has a Sako TRG 42. He loves it

    Sweet.

If I had a ton of monies I'd probably buy two different rifles.

    A howa in a 6 5 creedmore, and a 300 winmag.

One for deer and one for elk. Figured a 30/6 would probably work for both... perhaps

It does. That's what my roommate shoots. He just got a Tikka in 30/6. Light as hell. Monies is definitely the limiting factor...but

Definitely the safer option, although much harder. Once I got it, I dropped about half that again on accessories and random stuff....scope was free, thank goodness

Edit: had to go add "half" to that. My wallet couldn't take doubling

The scope comes with the howas I'm looking at too. But I have heard the scope isn't all that great. Idk
