You referring to the plastic airbox? When you said intake I thought you needed a intake manifold.

Alright, so the Fobs seem to be fine. Its got to do with the truck. I tested both batteries and one was 3v and the other was 2.9v. There should be no issue. I'll list the shit I've done to the truck that could have something to do with it. If anyone has an idea of what the issue could be, let me know. I'm out of ideas

    -MESO Puddle Lights
    -Dash Cam (Always on)
-Midland mx275 (Only on when truck is on, excess antenna cable folded up in engine bay)
-Molle Racks (Around Center Console, could cause interference?)
-Matt Gecko LEDs (Bed and Engine Bay)
-HUM by Verizon GPS/basic diagnostic module (Always plugged into OBD2 port via splitter)

It's probably going to fall on deaf ears, but I would still try a fresh new name-brand battery. There is a difference on testing a battery voltage using a meter, and testing under load. Your mention that performance has slowly diminished, rather than suddenly as when you added a mod, would seem to point to a battery.

And, you could try eliminating other factors mentioned in the manual, such as testing in a different location, making sure no other remotes or cell phones are nearby, etc. Maybe try temporarily unplugging potential electrical interference, such the dash cam and GPS module, and see if performance increases.

    Morning guys!

I will definitely give this a shot. Currently, I do have 2 brand name batteries (Energizer and Panasonic) in each of the fobs, but will be buying new ones and testing that. I will try this later today!

Sorry. Not sure if you tried this already, but did you test the levels of your truck battery? My buddy had signal fob degradation on his accord (fob worked only within 2 feet of his car) and when he replaced the car battery, everything started working nominally.

I actually just got off the phone with my buddy and he recommended the same thing. I believe it's still the stock battery so it's about due. I'm going to do some more testing before I replace the battery though. Thanks guys for all the assistance!

This is for a 1st Gen, and I'm still looking if there could be any interference from something else.
I know yours is a different situation but others are sharing experiences and fixes related to this.

Thanks to Mobtown Joe for the new tail pipe. Just installed it along with a new muffler. Muffler was the original, 20years old and almost 240k miles so I can't complain.
