I was at Pope AFB. NC from 86-93. One engine shutdown? Pfft, they have 3 more!

Yeah the protocol for that squadron was that an emergency had to be declared with just 1 engine out. Kinda silly because half the time the pilots would still request the initial for the overhead break lol.

Yeah, one engine shutdown IFE is normal......but we could care less in manx, except that the engine needed worked. When we went from AMC to ACC in 92? and F-16 aircraft were assigned there, and their leadership came on board, they pinged out like little bitches. Pfft.

Why would you feel sorry? I am proud of serving. All of my friends and colleagues know I served. I just don't have a need to put a big sticker on my truck. To me, it's like wearing a shirt saying "I'M A VETERAN" whenever you go for a walk in public.

I have pride in lots of things. Again, I don't have a want or need to put a big veteran sticker on my truck. I also don't put a lot of stickers on my truck as well.

Some people are more private than others. I'm an open box if you ever talk to me in person, but I don't like wearing things or owning items that would identify me outright. I guess working with "quiet professionals" for most of my service makes me different from most people who served.

I can agree with this, Oregon you get permeant registration and smog exemption with your disabled vet plate.

I understand completely and know there are a lot of people who have served that don’t show it or talk about it much let alone put memorabilia on there truck. It’s all good and absolutely nothing wrong with that. A veteran is a veteran. I guess I’m one who likes to show it but also respect the ones who don’t. Take care and Thankyou for your service by the way.

Idk something different. It’s funny when you search for veteran not much pops up here. Just wanted to start a more mellow thread than ones we are all used to. “What’s the biggest tire”. “Lift questions”. New threads pop up daily that have been answered a thousand times before but doesn’t stop them. Thankyou for the link though, I’ll read through it.

A search for veteran in the thread title has 123 results, for just veteran anywhere it caps out at 494 like any high volume search. Not as high as 33 but this is a truck forum. Dig around outside the 3rd gen forum, I'm sure you will find all sorts of things that surprise you.

The whole point of the forum categories is to put information where it makes the most sense, when the 3rd gen section gets clogged with random threads people just make new threads and the information gets diluted.

You can skip past this thread maybe since it seems to bother you so much....:notsure: . You join a site to have fun with fellow Tacoma owners only to get lectured on where and when to start threads. Seems kinda childish if you ask me. O well. I’m not trying to be bothersome to anyone. Just wanted to have a nice conversation this evening with other Tacoma owners and veterans. Take care.

My stepdad is the same way, prior army but doesnt tell anyone (combat medic, he saw some shit). I hid mine while I was stationed down south and wont put anymore identifiers on my vehicles besides the general ‘vet’ plate because the drug runners I helped intercept and piss off are incredibly resourceful with finding you afterwards. Attempted kidnappings on me in two seperate port calls in South America, guess they thought id be an easy target. Its prob too cold up in Maine for them but, ya never know..
