I am looking for a truck that I literally have only seen once on a 2005+ tacoma. I want a Double cab with a regular length bed (it seems everybody only puts the shorter bed with the longer cab), 4x4. Ideally there would be no hood scoop on the truck. Please let me know where they are. Or if there is a reason they are not out there.

True hard to find but they are out there. As far as the hood scoop, that's a wanted item by most TW members. You can usually find someone to trade w/cash for a non-scooped hood.

It's considered the long bed for the double cab but it's actually the normal bed length. If you happen to pick one up with a scoop, someone here will happily trade you (probably with some extra $$$) for theirs w/out the scoop. It seems that where you are located dictates how readily available the long beds are. They're fairly common around here.

What your looking for is called a Double Cab Long Bed. And if memory serves me right they come in either a standard SR5 package or in the TRD Sport package. They are out there, just not quite as popular as the short bed models.

Double cab long beds are awesome, their extra long wheel base makes towing more stable especially if you have air bags over your rear springs. I never liked the idea of having the rear wheel of my dirt bike(s) riding on the tail gate and with the long bed it sits in the bed. Oh, and the back seat can fit three baby seats no problem so it can serve pretty well as a family hauler too.

Double Cab Long Beds are pretty common here in the Northwest. I see 4 or 5 every day going to and from work.

Yea, I would have prefered the long bed myself, but the manual tranny was more important. I can just sleep diagonally in it when I go camping.

Mine's a DC Long bed too. I'm happy with it. I wish they would have made the bed 48" between the wheel wells though. For what I haul I need the longer bed and I like the big cab. It's still not long enough to make parking an issue.

Hood scoop on mine too because it's the Sport.

Long bed is the only way to go IMO. Makes it look like a real truck and you have bed room of a real truck. I think the short beds look like an explorer sport trac or something. I'm not a fan.

Same here. I really wanted a long bed but my requirements for a manual transmission were more important. SO MY WIFE COULDN'T DRIVE IT !!!

I spent 6months looking for a used DC LB Sport found a few Base SR5. but for me the TRD seats were 1000x more comfortable.

All the dealers out here only had 1 or 2 new ones built the way I wanted, I was lookin to save some cash and buy a used one. Keep the hunt up on craigslist, and autotrader. Be patient and you'll eventually find what you are lookin for.
