I think IRM has a secure dividend, they're in the S&P 500, 10 years of dividend growth, over $8b market cap. If they cut, I'd probably hold on and wait for it to come back. It's the mortgage REITs I just couldn't trust any longer. Maybe trade in and out of them but not for secure dividends.

I took a gamble on a bank fund and put 50% of my 401K in it...and that fund is up 8.9% in 1 week since I swapped to it...It's insane. I'm already up 1% on the YTD now.
I have a trailing stop set up for my 200 remaining shares just in case...from $2.50 down to $1.85. My most expensive shares were $1.65. I'd like it if it never hit. I like to leave some in for the long gamble...but I don't want to take any more losses on garbage...I've got a lot of losses this month on bad PUTS....

Annddd there's why they say the rich get richer...they don't have $35K they have $3.5M and made $35K today
It's probably just people taking really quick profits on a friday.

Well...here's a scary conspiracy..the column and row labels on my TD account were just all in chinese...and then I refreshed and they went back to english....

BTW...does anyone know if Trump shut down travel from china earlier than anyone else? He's got to stop making the same points over and over...spread out the info.

I bailed at 3.35. I don't know, if they recover and actually come back and the shares hit $10 I'll be grumpy, but if they BK and go belly up, I'll be happy I dumped when I did :p

As far as the rich richer, yup. First step to making money, have money. There are a few "self made" rich folk, but a lot got money to make money from prior money. Heck, even a "modest" 100k being given to them from whatever (inheritance, lawsuit, etc) is a looooot and a huge step in that direction.

He might have actually. The first time we saw any reality to this stateside was when we traveled to St. Martin in Feb, we left I think like 05-Feb for the islands. When we got there they asked us if we had been to Wuhan area, when we got back to the US they had us alllll single line, can't do self direction, etc etc or whatever, and asked if we had been to any part of China. I'd have to dig into it but I don't care to right now if I'm honest.

I have no opinions on this, but the bears will not shut up on Twitter, and I am done trying to fight the Fed.

Don't fight the Fed. I guess that's my opinion.

The bears will always be right sometimes, and make sure to let you know when they are. Overall, the market has been going up and to the right since it began. The bears lose in the long term.

My 401k is up nearly 10% YTD. Small and mid cap indexes are blazing.

a broken clock is right twice a day, which is about how often we enter a bear market, percentage-wise

My gay friend was talking to me about bears yesterday and his definition of what a bear is makes this conversation much more amusing

Mine only updates overnight/after COB/after hours, but I have most in LIZKX. As of my last pay period I changed the contributions to 50/50 VIVIX and VIGIX. So just starting with those. As of COB yesterday I'm up 4% YTD but something like -6% 1 year. After today I will probably be up significantly more YTD (I'm an engineer, significant just means noticeable, not the typical +10% significant hyperbole...:()

HTZ paid for a weekend trip to the family's beach place, NRGU will pay for a caribbean trip next year I hope.

My joy of gains is slightly offset when I let my idiot self look at the prices of the ones I let go early. It’s a long list, many of which are maintained in the historical record of this stupid thread. :annoyed:
