In full disclosure it was the wife’s idea. I thought markets would stay down longer. Had I used those funds for other investments I could maybe have made more. But I’ll still say she was right and I was less right. I’m glad it’s in there now, and she doesn’t have to worry I might screw it up

Ditch half and play with it. Part of the fun is playing with new stocks. Long term holds are boring. They're fine for retirements and stuff but if it's fun money, have fun with it. Bail half and buy some $HTZ since it'll probably go up to $20 on Monday (....because I sold today....)

You're a genius. I didn't think of doing that :( Next time, I'll roll my 401k out from my company (since they're starting to do $11/mo management fees anyway....)

Luxury cars, part of their appeal is that you buy it new and it's yours. They depreciate like a stone turd. The mid range luxury, look at Porsche Cayenne. They're relatively reliable, decent vehicles. 75k/6 years or so, and they go for like 15k from 90k.

But no I've never looked at doing something like that.

    :anonymous:

Problem is maintenance. Porsche isn't bad, they're basically just a VW with a fancy interior, but a Ferrari/Lambo oil change is worth more than my house. But you can find them freaking cheap, it's kind of fun to browse facebook/craigslist from time to time.

This place does damaged ones, once you get in a collision with a supercar it's worth like 5 dollars.
    https://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/fod/d/astoria-2002-ferrari-needs-work-ferrari/7130724766.html

When you get to the super super cars, they hold their value more than the normal folks vehicles, but the fancy brands have some normal cars that tank in value and you land on a clean cayenne for 10k.

    :spending:

sometimes it's best to ask someone who isn't a trader - they don't have an emotional element to it (or at least not as much)

Some day. Up 10% but waiting on my Stop Loss to hit on MARK. That may have been a mistake. If it doesnt hit I'll see what goes down next week.

Don't let that get you down - some of us have been around a bit longer, spending less than we make.

Here's the funny part. I'm only up 46% in my individual account. I'm way more conservative in my IRA and it's done almost twice as well. lol

It’s just a little shocking, I’m still young and have time on my side.

 I wish! The 12K investor.
But I’ve put in about 1500 into my investment account since January so ~3K/Yr which is roughly 1/8th of my yearly income.

Everyone starts somewhere. The goal is to grow it, so don’t get hung up on comparing yourself to others. That’s where trouble starts and you strain yourself financially. Make YOUR money work for YOU.

Compound growth over time is a wonderful thing.

That you're saving and investing now will serve you very well in 20+ years.

Time In the market is better than Timing the market.

That said I would like to see some models run on DCA over this whole ordeal 5+ years out, see if those DCA guys can be all smug and be all "SEE we still came out equal to or well within reach of the top earns just by DCA and not breaking our normal". But that's boring, it's more fun to try to time NRGU and fail miserably.

This was the easiest money i have ever made. This pandemic was a joke. People thought i was crazy pulling a home equity on my rentals to put in the market. I have paid about 900 in loan payments while im up over 100g. Only thing i i regret was not pulling more equity out of other assets. Opportunity of a lifetime, please lets have corona 2022

PS for HTZ here's a decent write up of what the future looks like: https://www.fool.com/investing/2020/06/05/hertz-stock-surges-130-traders-buy-post-bankruptcy.aspx

Don't know the site, but the article alone is decent. Explains secured debt etc. Read up more on it, and part of why I got out when the getting was good today :) If it dips below $1 again I might toss another $25 in and just see what happens, I already got a good payout from the first gamble, take some of those earnings and further gamble and take the rest of my donuts home. I still get donuts :D
