Lived in Michigan for 20 years and never made up north. Finally went for Memorial Day weekend.

Cuyamaca mountains, Mount Laguna, Lake Cuyamaca and Julian.

The route we did was 8E to Sunrise HWY to Julian and back down the 79 back to the 8W because the lady had never been up that way. There's several random rutted out access roads that are open and paved turn offs. Fun drive

We wanted to keep going up north but we had to hurry back home because of the La Mesa curfew

Nice truck man, can you post some more pictures of your truck. I want the same setup you have with the roof rack and the taller camper shell, but I'm curious how close they line up in height. Thanks man

    Thanks and Sure!

I like the extra room in the canopy, but need to carry a canoe and also have a rack when canopy is off. This set up has worked well for me.

Nice, where is this trail? I’m assuming somewhere south of Almaden?

    Oh OK, nice.

Yeah, I’m local, I was in Calero County Park today. I’m fairly new to NorCal (actually only been in the U.S. a few years from Australia) so trying to find new places to visit and get out and about. Cheers.

Right on. I frequent the Calero area for some surveys for work. Use to live in New Almaden up against quicksilver park when I moved down here. Had mountain lions frequently walk through my property. Love that area.

Check out or Norcal threads and shoot me a PM if your looking for more spots.

Yeah nice, although the mountain lions might be a bit much haha. I’m more in the San Jose area but don’t mind getting out to pretty much anywhere really.

Too easy mate and will do, appreciate the chat, cheers.

The Lagunas are my old stomping grounds. Plus I lived in La Mesa for 10 years of my 25 years living in San Diego. I now live back in Colorado where I came from. Thanks for taking me down memory lane.
