My Canadian Iowan wife is in Vegas and picked these up for me. Sadly total wine is all sold out of their Smoke Wagon picks.

I've never tried a barrel pick ER. I wonder how they vary from the standard release.

I’ve only had store selects, but I wouldn’t imagine it being so far off from a regular bottle.

I’ve actually never had Eagle Rare before. It’s always available here and I haven't bit the bullet to get one until now.
That being said, this is really delightful. There was a very sweet and orange like aroma once I opened the bottle.
The nose is very sweet and fruity, much more sweet than the taste. I picked up a lot of oak in the taste. It wasn't incredibly complex, some sweetness, a good amount of wood, but an overall delightful tasting.

Thinking back on it, it actually reminded me a little of EH Taylor Small Batch.

I'll have to give those a side by side comparison. I also plan on picking up a non-store pick Eagle Rare to see how they compare.

Retail at total wine. Blanton's isn't worth more than retail IMO.

I love Writer's Tears, an Irish copper pot whiskey but I've also been getting into this badass Japanese whiskey that I highly recommend. IMG_8122.jpg

A guy I know who works for High West's parent company told me that Yippee Ki-Yay is going away completely and Campfire will be distillery only. I didn't care much about the Yippee as it isn't my thing, but I did want some Campfire. It's good at $65, especially considering how unique it is, but my guy has it for $54. Had to grab a bottle for me and for @Misplaced Nebraskan before we meet up tomorrow.:D

Full trd pro suspension. Toytec progressive add-a-leaf pack (with overload in). Sema trd 4runner rims. 285 70 17 ridge grapplers. Satoshi grill.
Had 2 bottles of this a month apart. One I thought was excellent, the other was way to heavy on dry smokey flavor

People hate on it but I fuckin love it haha. I’m a bt fan boy though. Picked up 3 more bottles today along with 2 bottles of eagle rare.

Eagle rare has become my daily the last few weeks. Such an underrated bourbon. As far as blantons my local store takes care of me, being a loyal customer he doesn’t up charge me at all. If the only 3-4 good old boys pass on the blantons he passes it on to the next guy. Always holds a bottle or 2 for me a month so I can’t complain.

Don't know what those cost ya each... But I'd rather spend my $55 on Elijah Craig Barrel Proof... WAY better IMO... And no games.. no price gouging...

I’m not an Elijah fan though. I’ve tried it numerous times and I don’t like the taste of it. Idk if it’s the high proof or what cause I tried a high proof knob creek store pick and wasn’t a fan.

I stated out with the normal Elijah and liked it. Once I really started trying other stuff I never got the taste to like it again, I might have to revisit it.

If I could find weller I would prolly pick that over most though, that stuff is super tasty.

The campfire I had was super oak flavored but good. The midwinters dram was nasty, prolly the worst bourbon I tried last year. I bought a bottle cause my buddies raved about it and ended up trading it. I know some dudes that love it though.
