Couldn’t agree more. Good on the OP for asking the question. You shouldn't have to get lectured from people on trying to get some simple help. Some people have to much time on their hands.
Thread actually helps me out as I’ll be doing the same mod very soon so Thankyou OP.
Glad you got it resolved by the way. Take care.

So do you disconnect the battery when you change your light bulbs?

I understand it's good idea/safe to disconnect the battery prior to working on anything electrical, but I didn't. The way I saw it, you are not working on the switch hot since I first pull the connectors prior to taking the switch apart.

Sorry late to the party! Glad you got it fixed. Please be VERY careful when taking an electronic component apart. The 4WD has small metal “whiskers” that contact a circuit board when you turn it. Not paying attention you can bend them and they won’t make contact.
    As for disconnecting the battery.....
My take is if you are trying to MODIFY something while it’s STILL CONNECTED (I.E map lights, dome lights, etc) defiantly pull the battery terminals. Something like the 4WD switch where you just unplug it and work on the bench, it’s not necessary but I still recommend it for a second safety barrier.

So glad I found this thread. I had the same issue. When I took the middle screw out, the whole thing popped apart and I didn't notice that one of those prongs got bent down. I used a picker tool to pull them up even and put everything back together. Works perfectly now.

Which again, you unplug that whole assembly and it kills the power. If you swap to LED's and they flicker, that's because the LED's don't have enough of a load. Add some resistors and the flickering stops. I know because I ran in to it as well. Some of the people here said I "blew a module," smh. So quick to assume the worse when a little troubleshooting is all that's needed.

Sorry for resurrecting. Having the same issue here. Everything is back the way it should be and the prongs on the circuit board look fine. Any tips?
