    I believe that the power tailgate locks are a dealer installed option that started in 2018.

    I finished my install but ran the wires over the chassis as there was not another harness running along that area. I am thinking to maybe run it on the inner channel now so it is not in view on the rear tire well. I noticed it sticks out like sore thumb and would be better protected. I felt along the frame rail chassis and there were holes on the top of the rail covered by rubber stick on discs and that's were I mounted and ran the wire loom.

    Open the tailgate and look toward the right-hand end, the part the would be underneath and hidden by the bumper if the tailgate was closed. There should be at least one wire bundle exiting the tailgate... which would be for the camera. If there is a second bundle also, that would be for the power lock. Chances are, you don't have the power lock. :(

    Installed mine exactly as yours since my harness runs on the driver side of the frame on my 2020.

    Just ordered my kit for 123 shipped, i originally got the pop n lock kit with pnp harness but cancelled after I found out there was a oem kit that was a little bit cheaper too. lol

    Finally did this today. I've been going to buy the kit for a long time, so it was about time.
    Went pretty smooth, but it's amazing to me that Toyota can come up with 25 pages of instructions. That's a little excessive...
    EDIT: My bad 22 pages.

    Just finished the install, very easy, just a bit time consuming while crawling under the truck. One change I did is on step 7-L, it did not make sense to secure the plug from the tailgate side with a zip tie. That would mean if you needed to remove your tailgate you would have to cut the zip tie first then unplug it. I tucked the plugs in the same spot as the photo fig 7-10 and 7-11, but I put two zips about an inch and two from the end of the main cable. Keeps it secure, but I can get to it and disconnect if needed.
