I don't have them installed yet, just been mocking up the fitment to decide if I'm going to keep them or return for the 6.5" tempo set. If the speaker is right into the back of the door grill I'm concerned it'll add noise and possible damage the speakers. Basically, if the dremel has to come out I'll skip it and go with a different set.

The plan is to dial this in tomorrow. Most likely they work fine without further modification.

I'll have to take a closer look at where they sit in relation to the door panel. I didn't think they would be close at all.

I got them installed on Friday, and checking the top mount clearance the 6x9 door panel "ring" doesn't come into contact with the speaker. If I had to guess there's maybe an 1/8" gap between the speaker and that ring. The shallowest point on the door grill is about 3/16", so there's room but it's pretty close.

Having swapped to the Tempos from the Maximo Ultra 6.5" set it was a definite step up in audio quality. The tweeters are slightly larger and sound even better. I don't have them running with an amp yet but I imagine they would sound amazing with more power.

I think I might have a harmonic vibration, but only at certain frequencies. I may take the panel off and throw a couple noico strips her and there on the panel itself.

It surprises me that the speaker is that close to the panel. I still haven't had the chance to take a look.

There is certain music that sounds absolutely fantastic on these speakers (ex: The Beatles, Hamilton soundtrack, all heavy bass rap/metal/pop-well produced music) and there is other music that could use just a little help (ex: 80s/early 90s metal with poor production, Mastadon) from the EQ.

I tend to listen to music flat on the EQ. I'm extremely satisfied right now though. Once the rears come in, I might dial down the highpass for both back and front from 90 to 70 (or somewhere in between) as these can be set down to 50. Right now, I'm good though.

I installed the Integras last night in the rear doors.

    Unboxing:

    [IMG][IMG]

The speakers have soldered in resister style crossovers to protect the speakers from going too high on the woofer or too low on the tweeter.

The terminals in my opinion should be more robust for a $269 pair of coaxials

    Side by side comparison

    [IMG][IMG]
Look at the size of that magnet on the Morels!

    And we're installed:

Right now they sound OK, but I am not using them at the right amp setting. My rears are set with a high pass of 100hz for about a week, then I will switch the rear channel from high pass to full. I tested them at full and they sound fantastic. I just want to break them in for a week responsibly..... Same with the fronts, though those are set at 90hz, and will be going down to 70 soon.....

    Update:

I've been running this set up for a good amount of time, so I believe these speakers to be well broken in now. The bass out of the front woofers is incredible. You could run these speakers with a 4 channel amp without a sub if you were so inclined to....

I want to circle back to this. I've updated my head unit to a Kenwood DMX905S and retuned the amp using a SMD DD-1. Set the gains using 40hz @-5dB and 1000khz @-5dB.

Holy crap, these speakers shine at high volume. Way better than with the OEM head unit.

Awesome. I got a great deal on a pair and as usual I did no research until after I hit the pay button. I just put a set of maximo 6.5 comps in my sons car and they sound light years better than my RF t2's. So I got the itch again.:spending:You have a link for the proper bracket? for a 13 ORDCSB.

Just the standard Toyota 6x9 bracket. Metra 82-8146 I think

can grab a pair online, or most Best Buy’s keep them in stock if you want to pick it up

I spent the afternoon looking up images of these on the net. The squiggly light circle appears to be quite normal. Or lots of folks are getting fakes.

Looks like fakes to me. Can’t imagine a company with such high end equipment making something like that but I’ve been wrong before. I know mine don’t look at all like that
