    Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    Need some advice ...

    I bought a CampChef at COSTCO (3 burners) and it was a cast iron movable flat cook area (like a mini-Blackstone).

    The manual says to ... make sure to season it and take care of it with a special lubricant. :confused: They don't say what to use though.

    How to I ... season the cast iron plate ... and how do I clean it and keep it from rusting ?

    PS ... FWIW ... My Thai wife has been cooking some fantastic Tai meals from scratch and I have taken some pics and will post them later.

    I have been living on 99% Thai food and while I like it very much ... I do miss my bacon and eggs :drool: .... and biscuits and gravy and a good cheeseburger. :hungry:

    Have lost some weight and need to drop another 18 lbs to be at my high school weight. :muscleflexing:

    Typical day == First = Blended drink of water, mixed fresh fruits from the blender ...... Next = Oatmeal for breakfast (we mix our own with fruit and nuts and etc.) and green tea and (still drink my coffee too ) ...... Lunch = big Thai lunch ...... Dinner = mixed fruit plate for dinner with Ginger tea.

    We are both semi-retired ... so she has all the time she wants to fix meals ... we could never do this if we worked.

    Typically cast iron is best seasoned by use. Cooking bacon everyday on it, thought probably unreasonable, would be the best option. I scrub mine with water and a brush. If lube is needed, hit it with a dab of oil, lard, or crisco and rub it in with a paper towel.

    If you clean it with soap and water then just rub vegetable oil or pam spray oil on it to protect it.

    Theyre thinner than spaghetti noodles and already pre cut. If you go down the "international" aisles in grocery stores you can usually find em there. I think even Barilla sells boxes of fideo.

    I ordered some GrillGrates. First night tried some ribeyes and second nigh some chicken thighs and grilled sandwiches to play with it and creating those infamous grill marks. I would say it works as advertised.
    The steak was on the gas grill, and the chicken on the pellet grill. If the rain will stop I will try it on a charcoal grill also. So far so good...
