Got the stuck lug off :bananadance:

Fully charged the impact wrench did the trick. Was at 3/4 full and peak voltage drops around that point a few volts. Geez what a relief. All bolts nice and happy now.

Yea well it was either go all the way around Silverado canyon and chino hills state park since I don’t want to drive on the 91 going 50 mph or go straight through the mountains to Irvine... I chose to go straight through :D and break in my front diff while I’m at it

Got my gears done yesterday. They didn’t over torque all my lugs and I brought my torque and breaker bar to double check. They had 4 guys working on my truck so it was quick.

Miguel called me with an opening for tomorrow morning. I took it! He was able to accommodate off hour drop off tonight. Super cool. I can’t wait.

Anyone else in the 2nd batch received a call from Miguel yet to set up an appointment?

I'm not at all encouraging they speed up gear installs by asking this, I definitely want them to take their time with these installs to do it right. Just curious is all.

Took me one hour to get there, and 3 hours home. So far so good. Of course I only have a few miles but it looks like 4.88 was the right call for me.

    Really good folks there.

Agreed! Really, good guys there. I was the blue tacoma that came in as you were leaving. I also went to 4.88's from 4.56's and noticed a power difference with my 35's.

My install took about 2 hrs. Carlos came to ask me, at one point, who installed my 4.56 gears because he recognized it as possibly their own handy work which i thought was pretty cool. I never had any issues with my previous gears so that was good to hear.

No pics of my install...i just let them do their thing.

I'm going to 4.56s. Lol. What were you're RPMs at highway speeds?

These are my notes that I took down while running 4.56 gears and 35s.

    At 65mph I was pushing 2100.
At 70 mph it was about 2300
And at 75 it was about 2500

4.56 where great with the 33s I ran for like 5+ years!

I’m still breaking in the 4.88 but I was able to get up to 65 mph and there wasn’t that big of a difference in rpm. I noted it was about 2200 rpm.
