These models were some of the best Trans Ams Ever made. Straight from the factory they had what it took to be competitive as a road racing car.
with some simple suspension upgrades they handled like a slot car. The 400 cu in version or the 455 cu in were both beasts.

I'm surprised this was not a more common swap. I've only seen a few of these - Bronco with a swapped F 350 Dually rear end
and the added fender flares from the donor vehicle. Would make a great snow plow for winter ( just add plow) , or just winter weather driving
    with more aggressive snow tires.

For about 15 minutes at which point it would revert to iron oxide. 70’s were not a high time for steel longevity.

I'm pretty sure that is a mid 90's truck. I used to have an 89 F 250 and this one in the pic is newer than that.

Isn't that the car from the TV show "The green hornet" Maybe a 63 Buick Electra 225

My bad I checked and it's a 1965 Chrysler Imperial Crown. Had to be a Hemi
to pull that big yacht around at any kind of speed.

I have done some research on this "Pro Street" subject and the power tours are in full swing. Lots more cars to go on these
sometimes more than a 1000 mile trips. As an owner of one of these cars, you have to make time from your job and family
to be able to take that kind of trip. And be pretty certain your ride will make the trip and back without issue. They normally
have a chase vehicle in the event somebody does have an issue, or members of the group will help get said car back on the
road again. or even towed. It can be a great thing if you can have the time and money to do it. and of coarse the right car.
My 87 monte carlo I just sold would have been a great car for this as it was very road worthy. But my job would not allow
me to go on a long duration trip. And the cost of fuel alone would have been rough. at about 12 miles per gallon.

Yes I followed this through the Hot rod mags, And Car Craft. Pretty cool to be able to do this.
It would be an adventure for sure. Probably a bucket list item for a good many men with Hot
street cars. I still ride a motorcycle but my back is bad from years of concrete construction type
work through the 80's. It nearly killed me before I had to stop. Doc said I had a wheelchair in my
future if I kept on. It's never going to completely be right again. And long car rides aggravate it .
Even the motorcycle gets tiring after a few hours. Frequent breaks are easier on it.

I kind of knew a few years back the Monte Carlo would be my last project car. I had it 9 years
and spent hundreds of hours on it. I still want to work on bikes, painting, customizing and such
but the big E ticket rides are not in my wheel house any more.
