I think I've told this story before but....whatever!

My best childhood friend and yours truly once got into a fight. Can't remember why, doesn't matter anyhow.
We were down the street from my house when all hell broke loose. We beat the shit out of each other. Clowns to the left of us, jokers to the right....here we are, trying to kill each other.
Once the smoke and dust had cleared, this dude, whose yard this brawl happened to take place in, came out and gave us some money. He said he was a former Marine and it was the best fight he'd ever seen. Can't remember how much cash he gave us but we rode our bikes to Sonic and ate like kings!

Now that I'm older, I wonder if he knew talking to us and giving us money would stifle our disagreement? Either way, it worked.
