That's what I am trying to figure out. What if you wanted to go back to your stock tune?

Mine is an Elite Off-Road, I drove to Illinois to get it from a guy that had it.
The guy that made them developed a drug habit that ruined his business.

I believe you just go to the same place that you find your tune files and it should be with them

I downloaded a small 8KB file that I sent them to ID the ECU. Think there is a proprietary issue with Tacoma ECU files and the company sends it out of the US (Italy I think) where the tunes are written. All I got back from them was the Pro Tune and Eco Tune. Per what they said which seems pretty straight forward here:

    Hey John,
After you write one of the tuned files, your original / stock file will display in this same location labeled "Original".
    Thanks!

So when you write the tune from the device it copies an original to the device? Most definitely do not want to brick my ECU or not have the original so I am being abundantly cautious.

I purchased the flash kit before vf tuner came along. Now flash kit is no longer being sold and everyone is forced to buy vf tuner and use the tune packs for generic tunes and make custom adjustments yourself. It’s not full proof and you can damage your truck with it if you don’t know what you’re doing.

I purchased vf tuner for $79 since I’m a flash kit owner so I can make adjustments later if I don’t like his final 2.0. I’ll never purchase from him again until his company becomes reputable. Hard to explain but I’ve been following and reading his stages of various positions for a long time. He’s not a business man by any means. He’s intelligent but he’s only helpful and responsive if you’re giving him money. Once he has your money you’ll be lucky to ever hear from him again. He’s never once responded to an email or pm from me the entire time I’ve owned it and the only way you can get help it seems is to piss him off on the forum.

He’s now developed the new turbo kit for our trucks which I was going to buy. Unfortunately his customer support doesn’t exist. No customer support for flashing I’d hate to buy a $4500+ kit and never hear a word from him again after that. Good luck learning how to tune your truck though. Hope you’re patient. Even the times he responded to me in email before purchase it took 3+ days each time.

You can’t brick your ecu. He’s made that very clear numerous times. Worst case scenario you have to mail him your ecu in an extreme event to unbrick it but you’d have to really screw something up to do that. Also he has new wireless thing that I believe he can do it for you over the internet.

My truck runs great with no problems, with no tune at all. I haven't read his whole thread, but I've read a lot of it. It seems to be mixed with success and folks that are having problems. Good to know about the non-existent customer service. No tune here, and my truck off roads great, with no tip in or super sensitive throttle. I saw another member mention his 4lo was like his truck was on the Pedal Commander with the setting on 100! lol

4lo was uncontrollably touchy on the build before 19880 or whatever number is was. When you were in traffic at a stop light it was dangerously sensitive. Any slight throttle movement lunges your truck forward extremely hard and took a very long time to get used to it. No ty. I went to the 19880 build and it had issues for the 2019 model year trucks like mine. So far there are zero final tunes for 2019.

He has another beta tune out that I’m running now that eliminated the issues that plagued the 2019s but now the throttle is screwed up just as bad but the opposite direction. You have to press the throttle down 1/4 of the way before it starts to pull at all. First 1/4 throttle won’t make your truck move at all on an incline. Then when it gets just a fraction of an inch past that it lunges the truck forward harder than should be.

Hoping 2.0 is better but if not I have vf tuner and maybe then I’ll try to adjust the throttle if he enables that setting to be changed. Some things he won’t unlock for people to change and hoping he allows throttle adjustments if not I’ll likely flash back to stock.

I need to come up and have you flash 04B04 on my truck. Also the tsb for high pressure pump squeak and the stearing imput surge at idle. Let me know if you have anytime coming up. Id like to do it before we go to colorado if we could.

I think I’ll just stick to stock, as I don’t have problems with mine, on or off road.

Are you referring to Orange Virus tuning? Info above is from VR tuned which is a different company.

Until I get another vehicle, this truck is sitting perfect for me as a long daily commuter and weekend off roader. I’m only running 265s, so my power is still there.

And if I ever get to the point of being too heavy, I’ll just regear.

This brings up a question since I'm looking at armor, at what weight did you guys start noticing it on your truck? There are some pieces I'm leaning towards aluminum for the weight savings since I daily drive it and only hit trails about once a month.
