Well, it's been crazy busy with 60 hour work weeks, a new position at work as a millwright apprentice, and selling the taco. Somebody is supposedly coming today in a couple hours with a tow truck to take it to it's new home (or grave). B5D00282-9781-4526-875C-F231D1A21ADB.jpg

*Edit: @Sig45 since you asked where I've been

I understand. Before the virus I was working a ton of hours myself. It's starting to tick back up slowly

    Glad you're ok.

Mowed the yard today. And just finished up some minor work on my neighbor's newly acquired '17 Camry SE that their 21 year old son bought.

Spark plugs, air filter and cabin filter. Easy stuff. No laying on the ground required. Done in 20 minutes.

Waiting for the potential buyer to show up, figured I'd tear into why my 83 cb650 isn't running. Well, as some people say, "There's yah problem bud!"BFBD0A80-54A9-4632-B9D3-F6ACEB44388D.jpg

All four carbs looked like that. The primary and secondary were plugged solid on all four, and I just had these apart and cleaned four months ago. This gas we have now absolutely sucks!

Unless you want E85, which is on a separate pump...E10 is as high as it gets down here. It'll still gum up stuff if it sit for a long time...especially if the gas and alcohol separate.

What's the situation on fuel in you area?

We get 83-93 octane, and a few gas stations (not really close to me) that have ethanol free. This will be getting 91 all the time, and ethanol free whenever it's going to sit for a month or longer. I really don't want to pull these carbs again... the stock air box is the best intake for these CB's, but they're massive and difficult to pull back the 1 inch they give you to remove the carbs.

Our octane ranges from 87 to 93. And yeah....don't blame you on the ethanol free fuel.

I use TruFuel in my 2 stroke stuff. It's 92 octane, alcohol free and has stabilizer built in. Otherwise, ethanol fuel + 2 stroke oil has a very limited shelf life. Better run it bone dry or you have a 50/50 shot of it starting come spring, when it's time to fire up that weed eater or blower.

This thing would be a wild ride if it was a 2 stroke...

Very nice Mike. I'm confident Mark the Wood Master would approve as well.

They make a 4 stroke formula. I get my 2 stroke version at Lowes. I've seen it at Walmart from time to time....but not very often.

All you need to remember is that a meter stick is approximately 10% longer than a yard stick. So for 100 yards measured, subtract 10% and that is around 90 meters. Or if 100 meters measured, add 10% and that is around 110 yards.
