Cooper ST Maxx or BF Goodrich T/A KO2

Well thanks to this thread and others I have 4 Saint Maxxines 265/75/16 arriving at my local DT Tuesday. Really hoping they live up to all the positivity.
Even with all the people backing them it's still difficult to find good non bias reviews without spending weeks reading through threads.
We shall see. Ill be putting them to the test on plenty of sand and pavement which should be nice coming from the stock rugged trails.

as an engineer if you look at the QA metrics Michelin sets (Michelin owns BFG) its no comparison

 

Where can I find the QA metrics?
It would be helpful.

I’ve had both. Put 40k on a set of BFG ATs and they were wore slap out! With rotation every 3,000 miles. Went with KM2s after that. Put 65k miles on those and still had tread when I sold that truck (4 door 08 Tacoma) On a set of ST Maxx right now on a 06 4 door Tacoma. I have 50k miles on them and they have probably 50% tread according to my eyeball gauge. They’re not cupped at all. Just as flat as they were new. Still very quiet and I’ve never had issues in water even with 305 wides. Had these tires put on January of 2015. They were a good investment I’d say

 

I wanting to go to this tire. Are you able to fit it underneath the bed? Some say they can with not mods, other say yes by bending back the outside brackets? I want to have a spare underneath my Tacoma.

 

Mine fit. Just had to wind it up slowly. No bending of brackets.

 

Does a 255/80/17 fit underneath as a spare? That is the size I want but need to keep the spare underneath the bed.

Thanks, Fitting underneath as a spare was the one thing keeping me from making my decision. I've always run BG KO2s onmy 4Runner but I I'm going to go with the Cooper ST/MAXX on my Tacoma now.

 

I just purchased 285/70/17 KO2's and mine fit under my bed, just barely but snug.

 

Yep, that’s the same total outside diameter as my 255/85/16

 

I'm looking to pick up a set of St Maxx in the next few weeks for my '14 Sport with factory wheels. Will the 255/80/17 fit without a lift? Lift is coming shortly though...

 

Sorry for bumping this old thread but what tire size are you running? Any lift/level? I love your stance and looking for something similar. I have a pro but it still has a pretty decent rake to it

Definitely the Coopers. 255/85r16s fit perfect and look perfect.

 

I had 265/65/17 Cooper ST Maxx’s installed yesterday. Really loving this tire so far. Granted, I haven’t put a ton of miles on them yet, but it rained a bit yesterday and they handled it like a champ.

Should be fun getting to know these new shoes.

 

Do the 17'' rims throw off the speedometer ? I just some 17'' 4runner rims and don't want the speedometer to be thrown off

 

I haven’t noticed it. If there is, it’s not really worth noting at all. The 17” in this size are indicated as a stock size as well in the manual
