I have a 2" on my rear axle to keep tires off my shocks. Use a quality spacer and a torque wrench (I use bora) and there's no problems.

I’m more worried about how dumb it would look with a super wide rear and narrower front haha

I think 2” spacer up front might be too much

Ah yeah. I have a .75" difference between my front and rear. Are you currently running 35s with 4.7 BS? How are you clearing your UCAs?

I barely rubbed the uca up front. I rubbed the resi and the frame though so I put some 1.25 spacers on and everything is fine now. I’m running 35x12.5’s the wheels are 17x8.5

I'm running a 17x9 with a 4.5" BS and 35x12.5 and don't touch the 2.5s. I have 1.5" spacers and am around 1/4" from touching the shock. I don't have bypasses but if I did I'd probably hit them. My smoothies barely clear.

    Hi TW,

Looking for some insight. I buttoned up the rear of the truck today and I was all excited to get it off jack stands finally annnnddd, I have 3 inches of up travel. I think i should be getting more like 4-4.5.

I'm thinking I set the bump height (and by extension, the lower shock mount) too low. When you set your bump height were you taking the main leaf to full negative arch? I took mine to 3" of negative arch thinking there was no way the leaves would go more negative than that and thats what I ended up with as up travel...

At ride height are your springs relatively flat with a deaver u402 pack or similar? Trying to figure out of I i set the bump height too low, the pack is too light of a spring rate or both.

this might be the wrong location for this question.

I did cycle it. There is a half inch of shock shaft at full bump. I'm thinking that i set the bump height wrong.

I didn't take the spring to its absolute negative potential thinking it would never go that far but that must be how its suppose to be done. I ordered a new set of lower shock mounts from archive (and new bump sleeves). I'm going to redo it once they arrive. Hoping there is another inch of up travel.

This time i'll tack it in, rebuild the pack and set it back on its weight to make sure it looks right. You live and you learn.

This is not to beat up on you, but I want to make sure others do not follow this. I would have done the install much differently, you have no bump travel, and that is critical for the Tacoma.

The bump stop mount is too low (but also limited by bed overhang), the old Archive bump plate is too high, and the shock axle tab is rotated up way too high. The axle tab should be rotated down, you also want to take into account articulation which requires extra shock bump travel vs the bumpstop at full compression.

I will send you a pair of the current Archive U-bolt plates which would instantly give you another 1" of clearance to the bump stop. You spent a lot of money on all these parts, I will help you get it setup for the most benefit.

It changes truck to truck so it's impossible to give a number that's one size fits all, but it's roughly 35-45 degrees.

Thank you. I will make up a sketch with approximate angles measured the straight edge on the bottom of the axle tabs. A 2.5x12 with Spring Over setting is generally about 15 degrees below horizontal

Correct, but 35-45 degrees is for a 2.5x14, A 2.5x12 with Spring Over setting is generally about 15 degrees below horizontal

Please note folks: these are APPROXIMATE angles, it depends on many variables such as:
    1. Thickness of spring pack (Some are 3" thick packs)
    2. Height of your bumpstops/U-bolt flip (Current Archive offerings are best in class)
    3. Shock brand and length of rod end
    4. Potentially fender clearance
