I too have tried a few different scenarios including a proper uphill rocky trail and it all works fine. It actually makes the situation more difficult with some working and some not working. I have a 2020 OR built last November in Mexico. Maybe we should narrow it down to the production number of the VIN’s. Mine is 308750.

This morning I decided to give my truck a much more thorough test than I did last time (see above).
It performed flawlessly. I was in the highest Crawl Speed because the noise from the Brakes is just too annoying at the slower speeds. I still don't see much use for it; but it might get me out of a tough spot someday, so that makes it a good tool to have in my opinion.
Mine was built in Texas, 9/19.

I feel for you guys for whom it is not working - it must be something that is 'system specific' (eg different trucks with different equipment/options performing differently, perhaps some sort of a 'System Software Conflict'). Hopefully they will get this sorted out soon, and get it working for you.

OK, stopped by the club this morning and used cc on the hill I referenced in post #189. The rpms did not increase as much as I had originally guessed but the computer does increase rpms to tackle the task. Truck essentially idles to the base of the hill then as it climbs the hill the rpms rise to 1750 +/- based on the tachometer. The rpms hold there until the truck crests the hill then drop back down to just over idle as the trail is dead flat there. The computer on mine will raise the rpms to maintain speed. There was no loss of speed at anytime on the hill.

Just verified and the slip indicator does flash. I also repeated the test I did yesterday with the same results.

Think you've all already identified the issue. CC on some trucks seems to have low limit on throttle which doesn't allow it to maintain target speed, resulting in timeout and CC shutdown. Fortunately this is probably either a tune parameter limit error in software or a bad CC calibration.

This thread has reminded me that CC works downhill too! May have been useful when I was crawling down this weekend and kept having to ride the brakes even though in 4 low and 1st gear.

I personally think it just needs to be recalibrated but I cannot get the dealership to do it.

To the people concluding Crawl Control works because it can go up an incline,
The test is meaningless unless you come to an obstacle.

For my test I went up a cement curb that lead to a dirt hill. The CC was clearly working, it sounded awful especially at the lowest speed. Turned the speed dial up a bit and tried it again. Climbed right over the curb and went up the hill.

Now I’ve got to test mine. I purchased the truck Oct 15th so it’s a fairly early 2020 build.

I've got a 2020 AC OR manufactured 2/20 in Mexico. I took it out this past weekend and tried out CC on a rocky slope with about 20% incline and had no issues. There were a few moderate rocks to "crawl" over and it worked as intended. Are those of you experience issues all in double cabs?

    That’s very encouraging.
Ours was an earlier production. Tag says 10/19, made in Mexico.
    Maybe it’s just a programming/calibration issue.

Yes, ours is a double cab, long bed.

Mine was built Feb 2020 in Mexico and is a double cab short bed. It also has the Advanced Tech and Premium Audio and crawl control doesn't work correctly.

Do you know your build date? My tag says 10/19.
Another member here with a build date of 02/20 says his works fine too.

Great point. I re did my hill climb and descend test this time having a buddy toss the 4x4’s under the tires while using CC. Worked every time. Build date of 2/20 in MX. DCSB with premium package.

It seems like it’s the people climbing sandy hills or softer terrain where the crawl control isn’t working. That’s where mine failed.
