Hellwig helper springs 550EZ help!!!!!!!

Hi TW, so I just purchased a pair of Hellwig 550EZ Helper springs for my 2013 Tacoma Prerunner DCSB, stock leaf springs. I see some people installing it behind the axle and some install it in front of the axle, so I was wondering what is the difference or which way is the correct way of installing it. If anyone has them on please send me a picture and tell me if it is useful or not.

I had ordered some of these for my 2015, right after I ordered them I found out that I would need to remove a stock spring clamp for them to work properly. I didn’t want to do that so I canceled my order.

They may have come up with a solution by now, I would call and ask the manufacturer unless you don’t mind hacking off an existing leaf spring clamp.

 

14 DCLB: I have had these installed (behind the axle) since 2014 to eliminate rear-end "squat" as I tow a 16' enclosed trailer w/ a classic car. Overall weight is 5,200# with a tongue weight
of 530#. They work great and do not affect the unloaded truck at all.

 

Wow nice truck, did you have to relocate the spring clamp? It looks like it helps alot.

 

No relocation of the stock clamp. I chose these over the full length ones for ease of installation and no impact on ride when not loaded.
