Another conversion thread.. fun.

I love my conversion.
Last I knew I was 1 of 3 my set up of a multi model tcase

 

I’ll be fixing that soon enough. But I don’t think I’m gonna be adding cylinders anytime soon.

 

If you did that would be very impressive. I think the 5 speed would be a great swap for your I4.

 

It’s already in the works. Just need to more time and to handle some other financial things first. Looking at completing it in the first half of next year.

 

I wanna see your rig sometime.

 

No big deal, but I may have driven it blindfolded before.

 

I was just thinking, there’s a chance that you cut your bed too short by a little and I actually have a longer bed than you now. That would be something.

 

Guess we’ve gotta whip out our measuring tapes tomorrow. I wasn’t sure if a short bed was 60” or 62” so I made it 60”.

You may be being overly optomistic

 

front drive shaft and front diff have been ordered. Getting a free rear ds. All of the pieces are slowly coming in. Should be ready to put this all together in the next couple weeks hopefully.

anyone know how easy it is to do the transmission filter? The one I bought shift with no filter in it so I will have to put one in

 

well that’s certainly interesting. Have you taken the Trans to a quality shop and had it inspected before you go through all this ? Or is it a new trans ?

 

No I haven't. I may. It's a salvage with 60k. I think they just properly drain it before shipping it. Should be easy enough to add a filter and fluid. And it is under warranty anyway

 

Filter is easy. Drop the pan (10mm), drop the filter 4x10mm and put it all back together with new parts.

Don't forget to fill it up first, then refill as vehicle is running after verifying AT temp. Should trickle out of the fill when full.
