I just did the online quote for safelite for your model year taco.

    779 total
    400 parts and labor
    300 for " recalibration"

Incorrect, I had mine 19's replaced at dealer with OEM, it has the Toyota logo and all, had my 17 replaced with safelight OE glass and it was not labeled as such but appeared to be plinkerton or whatever, its different, 17's gopro mount also didnt say gopro.

OP $1400 is way too much, maybe something to do with all the riots and glass demand, regardless I paid $1100 for OEM glass and the dealer to recalibrate back in Jan. Safelite quoted me $800 for non OEM and recalibrating, damn TSS. I heard though if they don't unplug it when installing the new glass you don't need to recalibrate, my Safelite guy wasnt playing dice and insisted he'd have to unplug it.

For sure man, and maybe it is the same, just notably different in some aspects. And yes the OEM glass chips extremely easy, not sure if its the angle or the acoustic factor, etc. Still pretty high quote from your dealer for OEM glass and recal.

Yep, I do miss the windshield zero deductible replacement add on when I lived in AZ and USAA, used it a few times and never raised my insurance rate.

I just replaced mine with pilkington brand glass from satellite. They also recalibrated the sensor. Stamp on new glass is on the passenger side, also the GoPro mount looks like an aftermarket part. Paid $0 because I carry a No deductible comprehensive policy.
