3" lift kit. 17" wheels and tires, custom grill, full technology package, Early model running boards, Push bar.
Guys, I have a 2016 TRD and have a 3" lift on it. for now I am using the stock shocks and no issues but I also don't do much off-roading. Truck has 80K miles on it and Id like to replace the shocks about now but would like to maybe use some with slightly more extended length to them for better range but something that is a direct fit with no mods required.
Also, I am looking for best bang for buck. I don't have a top of the line lift kit on it so don't need gold plated shocks. Something economical but better than stock.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks Mike

Best bet for better than stock but budget friendly would probably be the Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks

Thank you very much. Sorry not up on all this but, by adjustable, what am I adjusting on them and do you think they have any more extended length or range than the stock ones which I think are also Bilsteins??

you can adjust to them to stay at stock length or to get up to 3" of lift. I ran a setup like this for a while and they were great on and off road.

You can adjust the clip setting to compress the spring to achieve lift and not use a spacer lift.
Also a stiffer rated spring from toytec or old man emu can be put in place of the stock spring to achieve the same lift but keep the clip set on the lowest setting "0", bottom

So in my case, I have a 3" lift aprox already. when I had the kit installed, I asked about the shocks and if they would had enough length or travel to accommodate the extra lift and they told me yes which is why I didn't replace them at the time, But now with 80K miles, I feel like they are ready to replace so why not address the length while doing so. So given what I have said, so you still feel these 5100's will work and will I even be able to take advantage of the adjustment part of them?

Yes. Although you are not going to get any extra travel. Extended travel come on adjustable coilovers like fox, king, icon. This only adds about 1/4 to half inch more down travel. You risk over extending the shock and breaking the seals or worse, bending the piston of the shock.
Keep the clip on 0 and use your spring or you will lift it higher.
    Good luck

So to revisit this thread and thanks by the way for the good info.
I am wanting to do the equivalent of replacing my stock shocks NOT to raise the truck since its already lifted, but rather, to just replace the stock shocks that have 80K miles on them.
However while doing this, I would not mind while getting new shocks, if the new ones were a direct bolt on, and gave me slightly more bottom out travel range, and more extended range also if this is even possible.
Its really the extended range I'm mostly worried about with the lift, as I don't think there is too much left in travel on them now since they are stock and the truck is lifted 3".
Is the Bilstein still the best way to go or I have heard a lot about Fox also

4 inch lift - complete blackout, n-fab step bars, Black Horse bull bar, 20 inch light bar, anytime fog lights, added led day running lights, Fuel wheels and Falken Wildpeak tires ,custom fit seat covers, Gatorback mud gaurds
I have a 4 inch lift on my truck. I just ordered some new tires and decided to upgrade the shocks and struts too. I was thinking about going with Bilstein 6112’s and 5160’s for the back. Turns out that the 5160’s don’t accommodate 4 inches of lift so I ended up ordering Fox instead. They won’t be installed until late next week so nothing to report yet, good or bad.
