Speaking of Henry, I just remembered that they dropped the Henry X model a couple months ago. A more tactical version of the standard Henry lever-action. Picatinny rail, synthetic stock, side-loading gate, among other things. Pretty cool gun for folks who want more of a tactical lever-action.

A few months back a guy in the lane next to me at the range had one, he had a holographic sight, muzzle brake, and a couple other things done to it. Definitely a different take on a lever gun, but pretty bad ass.

Yeah I agree. Took me a little bit to adjust to the new look, but now that I have, I think they’re slick. Smart on Henry’s part... marketing to the tactical/younger crowd. I may have to get the X instead of the all-weather now. A bit cheaper and a better platform to add accessories to.

You can do a family transfer and not pay the tax I'm pretty sure. I've known them to just to their $70 fee.

Father to son transfer can be done online through CA DOJ CFARS website. Not via mail though. :(

Only a couple twelve. Older marlins and Winchesters are my favorites. But Savage and Browning are available in more “modern” cartridges.
Henry’s are well made and now some models have loading gates for those bothered by front end loading.

what I do like about Henry are the various octagonal barrels that are offered.

Yeah Rinkor. I just looked at the receipt again and it was $107.19 total. $70 for the FFL transfer fee and $37.19 for the DROS Fee.

Most gun stores charge a sort of "import fee" for bringing guns in to California from America, they know that out side of the state (America) guns are considerably cheaper and more abundant so if you're not going to purchase it from them they still make a little money on the deal. I have seen it range from $50-100, on top of that they still need to collect tax as well as the DROS fee. It makes sense to me for people purchasing guns, but really screws people on the family transfer.

Great rifle. Shooting .38's is so much fun, it kicks like a .22 mag and doesn't kill the pocket book.

Anyone have issues ordering complete uppers from Optics Planet?

They canceled my order and sent me an email from their risk department referring me to their FAQ page, none of which seems to apply to me.

    Not impressed with OP.

    Bill is..?

Their website says no phone support available due to COVID and reply emails will be a week or more.

Too long for me. I ordered the same upper with a different barrel from WingTactical and haven’t had any hiccups so far. They’re based in SoCal.
