Here is what he sent me, said it would take 9-12 weeks though

    The sale price is $35,158 + $2,320.43 tax + $46 tag and title + 0 dealer fees = $37,524.43

So Southeast Toyota is only getting a $1000 “rebate” which they call dealer cash compared to the rest of the country that is getting $1500. This puts us a little behind the ball as it is. So they’re really only discounting it $700.
With the rebate included they are only giving you 4.4% off. That’s definitely not good. Throughout this thread people were getting Tacomas at 10 to 14% off MSRP all the time. Supply is low right now because of the factory shut down and dealers know it so they are not wanting to come off the prices much. That being said, you still should be able to get close to that 10% at least. 11% off would be a sales price of $32,700. They are going to tell you there’s no way you’re going to get that number and you may not right now but it’s not like you’re pressed for time. It’s going to take 9 to 12 weeks anyway.

yeah I understand that but they want a grand for a deposit before they preference one. Maybe I should just wait a while. I’m not in a hurry so...

If you don’t mind a drive, MSRP is $1500 more for this one but in Colorado they still have the $1750 cash rebate as compared to the 1000 here so half that MSRP difference is negated. And they actually have it now I’m pretty sure because the last six of the Vin is all numbers which means it’s already built.

I paid 44,139 after tax title license and finance charge for a 2020 dclb silver trd off-road premium with the tech package and all weather mats/ sill guards/ mud guards/ emblem overlays. Msrp was 45 and some change so after all the bs pretty much back to msrp.

Just ask for the invoice. There is plenty of markup in these truck 2500-3500 depending on model. I worked at toyota for 4 years as a sales rep. Go in and tell them you want to see the invoice that came with the truck

This. I just purchased my my 2020 Tacoma 4x4 Offroad two weeks ago. They're asking price/sticker was $43k (has a ton of options/package). I asked for invoice and was able to get it for $38k with Toyota's current 0% financing promo. They were banking off the fact that specific Trims of the Tacoma are a bit slim on the inventory side because of the production halt caused by COVID-19.

Depends on your fees , some variation of SR or SR5 depending on engine size and whether its 2wd , 4wd, access or dbl cab.

Popular is double cab 4wd so if you are happy with access 2wd that should help as they have a harder time selling those. I really like my access cab, the way it looks as well as the six foot bed.

Was that your OTD price? Also, I'm not seeing 0% financing now. Is that based on region?

Cash for them is irrelevant.. They actually prefer you finance. And I would say a 2wd sr will get you out the door at 30

A huge part of the equation is going to be taxes. If you live in South Carolina taxes Cap at $500. If you live in Georgia it’s 6.6% of the price of the truck(~2k). 2wd v6 sr5 msrp starts at $32,065. In sc taxes and fees ~$1000. You’re doing really well if you get 10% off MSRP plus the $1500 rebate. 32-1.5k=30.5*.9=27.45+taxes and fees. $2500 wiggle room for taxes, options, less off MSRP.
Like Jonny said, cash is a relevant. You would actually be better off never mentioning cash at all. Just talk price of the truck until that is settled and you are in the finance room. they make money off financing the vehicle so if they believe that you will be financing then they will be more likely to give you a better better deal.

Exactly!! I would just walk in and ask for the invoice on the truck. Pay them invoice less destination charge. probably close to 3 grand. Less the 1500 rebate. Plus the tax and dumb doc fee and your pretty darn close to 30
