What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Installed the puddle pods from meso the other day.

 

Stage 2 tail lights Other than the hyper flashing in reverse these things are bad ass! Way brighter than the stock bulbs and I like how all my blinkers are now amber
The reverse lights are way brighter as well Used my wife’s scented candleand a X-acto knife and carved the plastic away to fit the bigger adapter. Had to heat it up 7 or 8 times to make it all the way around. Trimmed it up with a fresh blade and got the plastic shavings out with some scotch tape around a plastic straw. Not too difficult, maybe 10-15 minutes on each light. If I’m not mistaken, I now have LED lights all around the truck

 

You guys ever bother to visit the first few pages of this thread? It's like the Google way back machine, kind of interesting.

 

I really want to do this soon! Can't count the number of times I've gone up to the passenger door expecting it to unlock automatically...

 

I installed this a couple of weeks ago and I wish I had done it sooner. The hardest part of installing it was getting the wires through the rubber boot.

 

Can somebody recommend a good Taco windshield sun screen? Last one I had disintegrated and left tiny silver slivers all over creation. Would kinda like to avoid this on the next one.

 

I got the $10 el cheapo silver 2 panel from Pep Boys 4 years ago. I should probably get another, but it hasn't come apart yet. Just remember size small and you're good.

 

I bought one from @Level7Taco a few weeks back. Purchased the one without the text. Fits perfect in the windshield and seems to do well so far with the Texas heat. Also folds up out of the way nicely and stores in the back seat pocket on the passenger side.

You can just get a 2020; TRD OR came with them. Way cheaper and easier, right?

 

I love my weathertech sunshade. I had one on my ram, and got one for the Tacoma. Full windshield coverage, it’s double sided too. One side for sun, one side for snow. Can’t say how the snow side works but I work in the desert and this has been awesome. Not cheap at $50 though. Worth it IMO.

Another poster here had mentioned a 3 panel system very similar.
I would have done that, as it would have worked out well where the wheel wells sit, but I need to haul a 30 gallon tank around for a few months a year. And leaving the front half up, it locks it in for me.
It's very comfortable and I added some straps to help lift/slide it where it needs to be. Had just enough spare strap to make the handles.

My first ever mod to my new truck. I needed rod holders, so I made some out of a poly cutting board from Walmart...

I mean Starboard. It's totally Starboard guys. Very professional.

After that, it was just carriage bolts which I cut down and beveled to size to fit the rails. I'm using gear ties to keep the rods seated in the holders.

 

The dip looks so much better than the chrome, wow...

 

Say goodbye to those chrome vent rings!




Remove the radio face plate first and move on to the driver side trim. These are super easy to remove!

Broke the back nubs (plastic welds) and removed the rings. Do it slow so you don’t break the trim ring clips to reinstall after painting


Put the dash back together minus the rings!

Hit with another coat of Av flat black and will click them in place tomorrow
The dash looks 100% better just with them removed!
