I have a 2012 Toyota Tacoma Auto 4WD double cab SR5 with the long box.
I currently have a tonneau cover that really limits my space capacity. I have a family of 4 and we are looking to adapt my truck with a canopy, roof rack for paddleboards and a bike rack. I prefer to do this over trading in for a van or suv.
I am researching brands and everything but getting really overwhelmed with the options.
I could use to help to narrow down what I need.
Canopy with a roof rack: I found one used but the top has no option for a roof rack, it this a deal breaker or can they be adapted to add a roof rack? Do I need to get a canopy with a roof rack on install?
Roof rack: what size and style would be best for kayaks/paddleboards? I have looked a Thule and Yakima so far.
Pictures would really help me see what I am needing if you have any.

Thanks for the suggestions in advcance!

Find shell that you like, find rack and accessories that you like, install rack on shell, enjoy.

Rack size depends entirely on needs and desires; I got the 66" bars so that I'd have enough real estate to carry my bike and multiple boats or boat and cargo box, etc. plus I like having a bit of the bars sticking out to hang stuff on, ex. opening up a sleeping bag in the morning to air out or hanging my wet suit on.

As someone who already had a Kuat bike rack when I bought my Tacoma, I'm very envious of the swing away style like the Rocky Mounts in the picture. If you already own a bike rack, you can buy a "swing away adapter" but they are pricey. I'm pretty sure most reputable truck cap dealers will install tracks on an existing cap so given how expensive new ones are, I'd say buy used if you are able to find a nice one.

I assume you mean the roof rack on top of the cab? Gonna be tough to identify from that angle but several companies make similar racks: Cali Raised, Prinsu, UpTop, etc
